Aug. 15

Civil Dispute, 9:35 a.m., Birch Street, Lyons. Couple arguing over car keys. No crimes. Parties agreed to stay separated.

Welfare Check, 9:51 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. All was well.

Aug. 16

Bike Traffic, 12:48 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Two juveniles contacted after curfew. Parents came to pick up children.

Suspicious Vehicle, 1:45 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputies contacted a vehicle parked in the park after dark. Deputies asked occupants to leave.

Traffic Stop, 6:36 a.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for moving violation.

Traffic Stop, 7:26 a.m., SW Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for driving uninsured and warned for failure to renew registration.

Assist Other Agency, 7:51 a.m., NW Ninth Avenue, Mill City. Deputies assisted Mill City Fire Department and Pacific Power with a semi-truck that got tangled in wires. Power pole broke and caused damage to the gas station.

Extra Patrol, 8:42 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies conducted extra patrols due to power outage.

Extra Patrol, 9:37 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputies conducted extra patrols due to power outage.

Traffic Stop, 12:02 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured.

Water Rescue, 12:37 p.m., Highway 22, Mill City. Male fell out of a kayak while floating the river from Mill City to Mehama. He was found safe on a rock but had to be retrieved by Salem Fire’s raft. He was taken to Santiam State Park to be evaluated by medics.

Parking Complaint, 3:39 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Vehicle parked in Lyons Fire Draft Site. Vehicle owner was contacted and vehicle was moved.

Warrant, 4:21 p.m., SW Third Avenue, Mill City. Male, 47, of Mill City was cited in lieu of custody for two outstanding warrants.

Traffic Stop, 5:42 p.m., NE Wall Street, Mill City. Warned for expired tags.

DUII, 7:01 p.m., Sixth Avenue, Scio. Report of possibly intoxicated driver. Deputies were unable to locate.

Shots Heard, 7:25 p.m., Dogwood and 14th streets, Lyons. Caller reported hearing gunshots and believes they came from the city limits. Deputies were unable to locate anyone shooting.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:08 p.m., NE Santiam Pointe Loop, Mill City. Female on closed trail advised to move along.

Domestic Disturbance, 9:45 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Verbal domestic between multiple family members. No crimes.

Aug. 17

Suspicious Vehicle, 12:24 a.m., SE Kingwood and SE Second avenues, Mill City. Report of a woman sleeping in her car. Deputy was unable to locate anyone sleeping in a vehicle.

Suicidal Subject, 12:47 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputy responded and checked on the welfare of an adult in home.

Assist Other Agency, 5:59 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Assisted Mill City Fire Department.

Suspicious Circumstances, 8:01 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Nothing criminal observed.

Fraud, 8:28 a.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Caller lost $10 after responding to a mail scam stating they won $100.

Littering Violation, 8:40 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Report of a neighbor hitting golf balls onto caller’s property. Caller only wanted documentation.

Extra Patrol, 9:44 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Traffic enforcement.

Disorderly Conduct, 9:45 a.m., Front Street, Lyons. Female, 68, of Lyons arrested for disorderly conduct II.

Domestic Disturbance, 10:11 a.m., S McCully Mountain Road, Lyons. Female, 68, of Lyons arrested for disorderly conduct II.

Traffic Hazard, 12:37 p.m., Larwood Drive/Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Farmers told to adjust sprinklers off the road.

Littering Violation, 2:49 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Trash found dumped up Neal Creek. 

Civil Dispute, 3:17 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Civil dispute regarding an incident that occurred more than a year ago.

Motorist Assist, 5:03 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Stranded motorist contacted. He was assisted.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle, 5:20 p.m., Cedar Mill Road, Lyons. Deputies locate stolen vehicle. Ongoing investigation.

Aug. 18

Vacation Check, 1:14 a.m., SW Cherry Street, Scio. Security check of residence. All was secure.

Assist Other Agency, 1:20 a.m., Blowout Road, Idanha. Male yelling for help from land. When deputy reached him, he denied wanting help.

Traffic Stop, 11 a.m., Queener Drive, Scio. Driver cited for 80 MPH in 55 MPH zone.

Rescue, 12:04 p.m., Blowout Road, Idanha. Deputies received a report of a subject with a medical crisis at the top of Stallman Trail Head. All was determined OK and subject was taken to the hospital.

Extra Patrol, 1:22 p.m., Blowout Road, Idanha.

Fraud, 3:41 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. $100 worth of fraudulent charges.

Trespass, 4:56 p.m., Valley View Drive, Scio. Deputy spoke to caller about trespasser caught on camera.

Traffic Hazard, 6:07 p.m., Gilkey Road, Scio. Driver assisted in changing a flat tire.

Fraud, 8:39 p.m., SW Second Avenue, Scio. Deputy spoke with caller about a civil issue with food stamp money.

Extra Patrol, 9:54 p.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Mari-Linn School.

Harassment, 10:02 p.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Deputy spoke with caller regarding civil dispute and telephonic harassment issues.

Suspicious Vehicle, 11:03 p.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Caller reported hearing suspicious noises outside of her residence. Area was checked and no suspicious persons or vehicles were observed.

Aug. 19

Assist Other Agency, 12:48 a.m., Blowout Road, Idanha. Deputies unable to locate vehicle for welfare check.

Extra Patrol, 12:59 a.m., SW Third Avenue, Scio. Caller requested extra patrol in the area of her residence. Everything was quiet and no suspicious activity observed.

Suspicious Circumstances, 1:50 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies unable to locate suspicious noise reported by caller.

Domestic Disturbance, 2:53 a.m., SE Fourth Avenue, Scio. Female became upset after drinking with her boyfriend of three years when he called her sister and his ex-wife, which caused a ruckus at home. Female was transported to local hotel at her request.

Extra Patrol, 5:27 a.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Mari-Linn School.

Burglary, 1:33 p.m., Larwood Drive, Scio. Caller reported six firearms were missing from the house. Caller had no firearm information.

Forest Timber Patrol, 2:39 p.m., Gates School Road, Gates.

Traffic Stop, 2:41 p.m., Gates School Road/SE Riverview Street, Gates. Driver cited for driving while suspended violation.

Forest Timber Patrol, 3:09 p.m., Cedar Mill Road, Lyons.

DUII, 4:13 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Male, 58, of Salem was arrested for DUII and reckless driving, and cited for altered license plate.

Disturbance, 5:33 p.m., Robinson Drive, Scio. Caller reported disturbance at neighbor’s house. Deputies responded and discover a verbal argument occurred. Parties involved reported no crimes.

Lost Property, 5;54 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Lost property was found and returned to owner.

Accident, 5:55 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Report of a motorcycle that drove off the road to avoid hitting a truck, which was at a stand still in the road. Rider had minor injuries from riding in the ditch.

Dog Complaint, 6;17 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Dog walking the road returned to its house.

Suspicious Circumstances, 6:57 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputies responded to a cooler on the side of the road. Nothing suspicious.

UUMV, 7:34 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Deputies responded to a civil disagreement.

Traffic Stop, 8:20 p.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Male, 39, of Stayton was arrested for a Marion County warrant, and cited for driving while suspended violation.

Warrant, 8:21 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Subject, 30, of Mill City was cited in lieu of custody on a Mill City Municipal Court warrant.

Extra Patrol, 9:17 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Traffic Stop, 9:57 p.m., Gilkey Road/Crabtree Drive, Scio. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 11:10 p.m., Highway 226/Franklin Butte Road, Scio. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Suspicious Vehicle, 11:17 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies contacted person parked in a closed weigh station. Deputies asked person to leave and they did.

Aug. 20

Extra Patrol, 1:17 a.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. John Neal Park. Three adults fishing advised of park hours.

Suspicious Person, 2:25 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Male, 36, of Mill City was arrested on Marion County warrant. He was transported and lodged at Marion County Jail.

Accident, 3:45 a.m., Green Mountain Road/E Gates Bridge, Gates. Single-vehicle, non-injury crash.

Dog Complaint, 9:33 a.m., Hess Road, Scio. Deputy responded to animal complaint.

Burglary, 10:10 a.m., SE Church Street, Idanha. Ongoing investigation.

Traffic Complaint, 11:36 a.m., Fisher Street, Scio. Female was talked to about the issue.

Phone Harassment, 1:25 p.m., SW Second Avenue, Scio. Deputy noted information about a husband calling his wife multiple times. Wife was provided information on how to apply for a restraining order.

Trespass, 3:46 p.m., Apple Loop/24th Street, Lyons. Male, 43, of Lyons was cited in lieu of custody for his Marion County warrant.

Dog Complaint, 4:37 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Deputy attempted contact on dog at large. 

Juvenile Complaint, 6:47 p.m., Shimanek Bridge Drive, Scio. Caller documenting issues occurring with their child. Information forwarded to DHS.

Disturbance, 8:09 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Caller reported people arguing. Deputies were unable to locate.
