Pedestrian dead after Detroit RV collision

A Detroit man has died in a vehicle/pedestrian collision on Highway 22 as authorities investigate why the deceased may have been in the roadway.

Jimmy Ray Graham, 64, died at the scene of a collision Aug. 17 near milepost 51, in Detroit.

A preliminary investigation by Oregon State Police revealed Graham was in the eastbound lane around 9:30 p.m. when he was struck by an eastbound motorhome driven by a Scio man.

No injuries to occupants of the motorhome were reported.

The highway was closed for around 3.5 hours as police investigated the wreck. In an Aug. 19 press release, OSP said it was unknown why Graham was in the roadway and the cause of the wreck was under investigation.
