April 29

Disturbance, 9:54 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Verbal disturbance over food in refrigerator. No crimes. One party was trespassed from location.

Fraud, 10:42 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Fraudulent activity took place on someone’s bank account.

Suspicious Person, noon, Eighth Street, Lyons. Report of person hanging out in front of closed business. Deputy familiar with individual. No crimes.

Fraud, 3:27 p.m., SE Fifth Avenue, Mill City. Deputy spoke to individual regarding scammer. Nothing was stolen.

Traffic Stop, 6:02 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive/Fishermans Road, Lyons. Driver warned for expired tags.

Traffic Stop, 6:06 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive/AK Lane, Lyons. Driver warned for improper display.

Traffic Stop, 6:27 p.m., Third and Fir streets, Lyons. Citation issued.

Park Patrol, 10:42 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park. Nothing suspicious.

Traffic Complaint, 10:56 p.m., Cedar Mill Road/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputy attempted to turn around and stop a vehicle. Deputy was unable to locate vehicle.

Disturbance, 11 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Male and female yelling at each other in the parking lot. Verbal only.

April 30

Traffic Stop, 12:02 a.m., SW Broadway Street/SW Sixth Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended.

Traffic Stop, 5:25 a.m., SE Third and SE Kingwood avenues, Mill City. Driver cited for 45 MPH in 25 MPH zone.

Trespass, 6:51 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Children told to stay off tracks.

Traffic Stop, 7:20 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver cited for violation of basic rule.

Traffic Stop, 7:25 p.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Driver warned for improper signaling.

Traffic Stop, 8:07 p.m., SW Broadway Street/SW Greenwood Place, Mill City. Male, 42, of Albany was cited in lieu of custody on a warrant, and cited for driving while suspended violation and driving uninsured.

Warrant, 8:16 p.m., SE Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Male, 63, of Mill City was cited in lieu of custody on an outstanding warrant.

Traffic Stop, 8:30 p.m., SE Ivy Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 8:44 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for improper display.

Traffic Stop, 8:56 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver cited for failing to provide proof of insurance.

Extra Patrol, 9:48 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Nothing suspicious or criminal was found during an extra patrol of a school.

Traffic Stop, 10:03 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for driving uninsured.

Suspicious Vehicle, 10:27 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Group of juveniles located at park. They were advised of park rules and moved along.

Traffic Stop, 10:39 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Driver cited for driving while suspended violation and driving uninsured.

DUII, 10:47 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Male, 24, of Mill City, was arrested for DUII and reckless driving.

May 1

Welfare Check, 12:40 a.m., Sixth Street, Lyons. Medics requested assistance locating a male who did not feel well. Located by medics before deputies arrived.

Assist Other Agency, 4:12 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Male, 40, of Scio, was arrested on a Marion County warrant.

Harassment, 4:27 p.m., Lulay Road, Scio. Female arrested for physical harassment.

May 2

Suspicious Vehicle, 7:49 a.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Male was arrested for his Albany Municipal Court and Linn County warrants.

Forest Timber Patrol, 7:59 a.m., Larwood Drive, Scio. Patrol of location of a mining claim in the area that likes to attract problems. Nothing suspicious at this time.

Burglary, 8:05 a.m., Jefferson-Scio Drive, Scio. A shop building was burglarized overnight. Nothing was obviously missing.

Child Abuse Report, 8:29 a.m., Linnwood Drive, Gates. 15-month-old likely ingested dropped marijuana. Baby was transported to local hospital where she was evaluated. Deputy and DHS investigated incident.

Disturbance, 8:49 a.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Deputy responded to an angry customer causing a disturbance at the Post Office. The male was counseled on his behavior and told him he was not welcome back unless he had official business and can behave himself.

Warrant, 8:49 a.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Female arrested for a Lebanon Municipal Court warrant.

Suspicious Vehicle, 1:10 p.m., Freeman Road, Scio. Deputy located suspicious vehicle. Deputy checked area for the subject but was unable to locate. 

Juvenile Complaint, 3:27 p.m., SW Cedar Mill Street, Mill City. School employee reporting person trespassing against their probation.

Suspicious Vehicle, 3:57 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputy contacted owner and learned he was just going for a walk and knew where his vehicle was.

Suspicious Vehicle, 4:12 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputy learned driver had concerns of overheating. Deputy checked vehicle and saw no obvious malfunctions.

May 3

Suspicious Circumstances, 1:53 p.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Report of large amounts of dust from railroad cars nearby. Caller wanted it documented.

Shots Heard, 2:24 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Deputy speaks to neighboring properties about shooting firearms on their own property in a safe manner.

Trespass, 4:43 p.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputy responded to a trespass and found a female was struggling with mental health.

Traffic Complaint, 4:59 p.m., NE Ash Street/NE Fourth Avenue, Scio. Caller advised passing car almost hit deputy. Another deputy contacted the driver and educated her on poor driving.

Accident, 8:29 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Single-vehicle rollover crash. Single occupant. Non-injury.

May 4

Hit and Run, 11:40 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputy takes report of a hit and run in Dollar General parking lot.

Found Property, 12:02 p.m., SW Sixth Avenue, Scio. Propane tank found in the road was transported to the Sheriff’s Office as found property.

Trespass, 12:05 p.m., Cole School Road, Scio. Deputy responded to a trespass call and found no one on the property.

Suspicious Person, 1:25 p.m., Seventh Street, Lyons. Deputy responded to a suspicious person call and found the person was gone before arrival.

Animal Complaint, 1:52 p.m., Cole School Road, Scio. Report of two large dogs killing livestock.

Traffic Stop, 6:55 p.m., SW Hall Avenue/SW Ivy Street, Mill City. Driver warned for expired registration.

Traffic Stop, 7:13 p.m., NE Wall Street/N First Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for failing to carry proof of insurance.

Warrant, 7:25 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Male, 47, of Lyons, was cited in lieu of custody on an outstanding warrant. He was also cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failing to register vehicle.

Traffic Stop, 8:18 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended and no ODL.

Traffic Stop, 8:47 p.m., Main and Sixth streets, Lyons. Driver warned for improper display.

Elude, 9:13 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputy stopped a male from Lyons who had multiple outstanding warrants and provided a fictitious name. During stop, male took off in his vehicle and eluded deputies.

Warrant, 9:25 p.m., Cole School Road, Scio. Information was documented.

May 5

Extra Patrol, 12:11 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Late night/early morning patrols through town.

Traffic Stop, 12:14 a.m., Highway 226/SW Third Avenue, Scio. Driver warned for expired registration.

Neighorhood Dispute, 12:22 p.m., SW Ivy Street, Mill City. Deputy spoke to male about driving carelessly.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle, 12:44 p.m., Cole School Road, Scio. Deputies assisted outside agency with search warrant.

Suspicious Circumstances, 1:47 p.m., SW Fifth Avenue, Mill City. Deputy responded to suspicious circumstance where a male was pretending to be someone else through text to avoid his family.

Trespass, 2:43 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputy trespasses a couple from Dollar General.

Accident, 3 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive/Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Single-vehicle, injury crash occurred near the intersection.

Traffic Complaint, 3:12 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive/Public Road, Scio. Deputy talked to male about his driving behavior.

Traffic Hazard, 4:28 p.m., Queener Drive/Cole School Road, Scio. Report of male walking in road. Deputies checked area and was unable to locate.

Accident, 5:38 p.m., Kingwood Avenue/Dogwood Road, Mill City. Non-injury, single-vehicle crash into ditch. Driver cited for driving while suspended.

Suspicious Vehicle, 6:39 p.m., Richardson Gap Road/Highway 226, Scio. Deputy contacted and warned subject reported to be trespassing.

Suspicious Circumstances, 7:56 p.m., Thomas Creek Drive, Scio. Females reported finding three marijuana plants by a ditch in the forest.

Warrant, 10:13 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Male, 39, of Lyons was cited in lieu of custody on an outstanding warrant.

Warrant, 10:47 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Male, 40, of Stayton was cited in lieu of custody on an outstanding warrant.
