Fairview Cemetery clean up May 18

The Fairview Cemetery Board will host a volunteer cemetery clean-up day May 18 in preparation for the Memorial Day Weekend. The cleanup will include raking, trimming, weeding, and cleaning headstones along with the removal of grass, dirt and rocks from gravesites.

Volunteers are asked to bring rakes, putty knives, brushes, garden hand tools (no power or electric tools), and empty water jugs. The board will provide water for cleaning, snacks, bottled water for drinking, and a limited supply of tools and water jugs. Participants are asked to leave pets at home. The event runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, 49973 Kingwood Ave., Gates. For more information, call Randy Mickey, 503-897-3419.
