May 21 ballots arriving in the mail

Ballots for the May 21 Primary Election will be arriving soon in mailboxes after being mailed out May 1. Once filled out and signed, ballots must be either postmarked by Election Day or returned to a ballot box by 8 p.m. May 21.

Marion County positions on the ballot include Commissioner Position 3, Clerk and Assessor, of which Clerk is the only contested race. Because the nonpartisan position of Sheriff had only two candidates, this will instead appear on the Nov. 5 ballot.

Linn County positions on the ballot include Commissioner Position 2 and 3, Assessor and Surveyor, the candidates for which are currently unopposed.
