April 1

Suspicious Vehicle, 12:10 a.m., 13th Street, Lyons. Person warned for being at park after hours.

Traffic Stop, 12:14 a.m., Sixth Street, Lyons. Driver warned for speed.

Traffic Stop, 8:45 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for no plates.

Sex Offender Registration, 9:09 a.m., SW Douglas Street, Mill City. Deputies conducted sex offender compliance checks in Mill City.

Custodial Interference, 9:18 a.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Deputy responded to custodial interference call and advised parties it must be handled in court.

Sex Offender Registration, 9:19 a.m., NE Fifth Avenue, Mill City. Deputies conducted sex offender compliance checks in Mill City.

Sex Offender Registration, 9:26 a.m., SE Second Avenue, Mill City. Deputies conducted sex offender compliance checks in Mill City.

Sex Offender Registration, 10:30 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Deputies attempted contact with out-of-compliance sex offender.

Violation of Order, 10:36 a.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Deputies investigated.

Sex Offender Registration, 10:39 a.m., Ninth Street, Lyons. Male, 39, of Lyons was arrested and booked at Linn County Jail for failure to register as a sex offender charges.

Warrant, 12:14 a.m., Valley View Drive, Scio. Deputy responded to warrant service and was unable to locate male.

Harassment, 4:23 p.m., SW Third Avenue, Mill City. Deputies took report of possible telephonic harassment.

Suspicious Person, 4:51 p.m., Hess Road, Scio. Illegal taking of forest products. Male, 62, of Salem; male, 61, of Salem; and female, 64, of Silverton were arrested for cut/transport forest products – vandalism. 61-year-old male also cited for criminal trespass II.

Traffic Stop, 9:08 p.m., SW Ivy Street/SW Swift Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for driving without driving privileges.

Burglary, 11:25 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Caller reported someone entered the second story of the home and approx. $600 worth of items were taken. Ongoing investigation.

April 2

Trespass, 8:55 a.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Deputy trespassed male from property at owner’s request.

Suspicious Circumstances, 12:56 p.m., Xmas Tree Road, Gates. 

Suspicious Vehicle, 8:36 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive/AK Lane, Lyons. Male pulled off along a dark corner with no lights on to make a phone call. Male was advised to move to a safer location.

Traffic Stop, 11:33 p.m., S First Avenue/SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

April 3

Traffic Stop, 12:26 a.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Male, 51, of Lebanon was arrested for driving while revoked misdemeanor. Transported to Linn County Jail.

Extra Patrol, 7:51 a.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Deputies spent time at Centennial Elementary.

Suspicious Circumstances, 8:27 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Three suspects were caught on camera footage damaging the door in an attempt to enter a building. Ongoing investigation.

Extra Patrol, 9:30 a.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Mari-Linn School.

Extra Patrol, 11:42 a.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Santiam High.

Extra Patrol, 11:48 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputies spent time at Scio High.

Threats, 1:44 p.m., Shindler Bridge Drive, Scio. Deputies responded to a verbal argument between two people.

Accident, 2:23 p.m., Richardson Gap Road/Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Two-vehicle, injury accident.

April 4

Extra Patrol, 2:21 a.m., Scio. Security checks around Scio after recent burglary attempts.

Rape, 11:47 a.m., Thomas Drive, Scio. Male, 26, of Scio was arrested and lodged at Linn County Jail on rape in the first degree and sodomy in the first degree.

Dog Complaint, 1:59 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputy transported deceased dog to Animal Control for disposal.

Accident, 8:13 p.m., Kingston-Jordan Road/Valley View Drive, Scio. Non-injury crash involving car vs deer.

Suspicious Circumstances, 8:39 p.m., Seventh Street, Lyons. Suspicious vehicles in the area. Both were parked with permission to be there.

April 5

Accident, 4:46 a.m., Miller Cemetery Road, Scio. Caller received from Verizon regarding a crash. Deputies checked the area and did not locate a crash scene.

Sex Offender Registration, 10:19 a.m., Thomas Drive, Scio. Male, 33, of Scio was arrested and booked at Linn County Jail on charges for failure to register as a sex offender and outstanding warrants.

Burglary, 11:23 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputy took report on three females burglarizing a clothes donation shed.

Traffic Complaint, 12:34 p.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Caller reported dirt bikes riding up and down the road almost every day. Deputy sat in the area for 30 minutes and the riding had stopped. Deputy will follow up.

Forest Timber Patrol, 12:37 p.m., Monument Peak Road, Gates. Deputy spotted a cougar by the gates on Green Mountain.

Dog Complaint, 3:55 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Stray dog returned to owner.

Harassment, 4:18 p.m., Thomas Drive, Scio. Deputies spoke to individual regarding ongoing issue of name calling.

Assist Other Agency, 6:14 p.m., Gilkey Road, Scio. Male, 41, of Scio was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants and transported to Linn County Jail.

Disturbance, 8:03 p.m., Thomas Drive, Scio. Male, 26, of Scio was arrested for assault III and contempt of court.

Civil Dispute, 8:34 p.m., Ninth Street, Lyons. Caller had questions about evicting people living in a tent on property they bought. 

Traffic Stop, 10:03 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Male, 38, of Mill City was arrested for felon in possession of a restricted weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, failure to carry and present and a warrant. Cited for driving while suspended and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Suspicious Circumstances, 10:09 p.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Deputies investigated the source of loud explosion and located the responsible party. Non-criminal at this time.

Traffic Complaint, 10:41 p.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Caller requested extra patrol due to frequent speeding vehicles.

April 6

Traffic Stop, 10:55 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for speeding violation.

Criminal Mischief, 2:30 p.m., E Gates Bridge, Gates. Deputies documented criminal mischief information where the victim did not want to pursue charges.

Accident, 7:40 p.m., Brock Drive/Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Vehicle vs deer. Minimal damage to the vehicle and deer was able to run away.
