Aug. 8

Extra Patrol, 7:57 a.m., Juniper Street, Lyons.

Civil Dispute, 8:13 a.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Deputies spoke with a female regarding an ongoing civil matter between her and her ex.

Traffic Stop, 8:51 a.m., Highway 22. Deputies learned the driver was having medical issues and was on the way to the hospital. Warning issued.

Hit and Run, 9:33 a.m., NW Alder Street/NW Ninth Avenue, Mill City. Deputies responded to a hit and run that occurred on July 29. Operator of the vehicle drove over a curb and retaining wall, placing his vehicle on top of a fire hydrant. Deputies were able to contact the male and help the city reach a civil compromise.

Traffic Stop, 9:40 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 11:19 a.m., SE Fairview Street/SE Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to obey a traffic control device.

Extra Patrol, 12:12 p.m., E Gates Bridge, Gates.

Traffic Stop, 1:45 p.m., SE Kingwood and SE Third avenues, Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Traffic Stop, 1:58 p.m., SW Broadway Street/SW Second Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for 44 MPH in 25 MPH zone.

Traffic Stop, 2:59 p.m., Highway 226/Jordan Road, Scio. Driver cited for 73 MPH in 55 MPH zone and warned for failure to carry proof of insurance.

Assist Other Agency, 3:07 p.m., Robinson Drive, Scio. Deputies assisted APS with contacting an intoxicated male.

Disturbance, 6:12 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies attempted to locate male who was causing a disruption at a local business.

Event Detail, 6:47 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. City Council meeting.

Extra Patrol, 8 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City.

Trespass, 9:44 p.m., 14th Street, Lyons. Deputies attempted to locate suspicious individual.

Domestic Disturbance, 9:51 p.m., NE Fifth Avenue, Mill City. Deputies spoke to individuals about taking ownership of their lives and not being victims to their dirty house.

Aug. 9

Sex Offense, 1:04 p.m., Dogwood Street, Lyons. No public narrative.

Hit and Run, 1:45 p.m., Lulay Road, Scio. Deputy responded to a report of a dog being struck by a vehicle.

Accident, 3:33 p.m., Larwood Drive, Scio. Deputies responded to a crash on Bellinger Scale Road. Minor injuries sustained.

Juvenile Complaint, 8:09 p.m., Sixth Street, Lyons. Juvenile was listed as a runaway.

Extra Patrol, 8:52 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Scio High.

Suspicious Circumstances, 10:03 p.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Deputy investigated open window on school. Nothing found.

Burglary, 10:58 p.m., Cole School Road, Scio. $480 worth of misc. items stolen from a trailer during daylight hours while the residents were on the property.

Aug. 10

Suspicious Person, 12:38 a.m., SW Second Avenue, Mill City. Juvenile found out after curfew and given a ride home.

Extra Patrol, 1:12 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Civil Dispute, 4:31 p.m., Gates School Road, Gates. Civil issue about a landlord entering a tenant’s yard.

Found Property, 4:38 p.m., Kingston-Jordan Road, Scio. Property was returned to the owner prior to deputies’ arrival.

Trespass, 4:41 p.m., SE Cedar Avenue, Idanha. Caller advised of stalking orders.

Traffic Stop, 10:03 p.m., Montgomery Drive/Farris Road, Scio. Driver warned for improper lighting.

Extra Patrol, 12:14 a.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Centennial Elementary.

Traffic Stop, 7:45 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive/24th Street, Lyons. Male, 57, of Stayton was arrested for failure to perform duties of a driver when property is damaged and criminal mischief I. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Traffic Complaint, 10:25 a.m., SW Parkside Drive/SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Caller concerned about excessive speeding in the neighborhood.

Animal Complaint, 10:48 a.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Male of Scio was warned for livestock at large at the caller’s request.

Domestic Disturbance, 2:44 p.m., SW Sixth Avenue, Scio. Female requested contact regarding a verbal-only domestic. Female was gone prior to deputies’ arrival and did not leave contact information.

Suspicious Circumstances, 3:50 p.m., Rock Creek Road/Kingwood Avenue, Gates. Deputies responded to Rock Creek Campground. Citizen told deputies another camper reported his truck was broken into and his family was robbed. Female did not have any information regarding the victim or suspects. Victim did not call in to report the incident.

Dog Bite, 4:48 p.m., Larwood Drive, Scio. Deputies spoke to delivery worker regarding a dog bite.

Noise Disturbance, 7:04 p.m., Montgomery Drive, Scio. Caller reported a concert in the county. There is no noise ordinance and therefore no criminal activity.

Fireworks Complaint, 10:02 p.m., SW Broadway Street/SW Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Deputies checked for fireworks within city limits.

Motorist Assist, 10:49 p.m., Blowout Road, Idanha. Deputies assisted male by requesting a jump start from a tow company.

Aug. 12

Disturbance, 12:26 a.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies investigated incident involving an individual being pepper sprayed.

Disorderly Conduct, 8:23 a.m., Hess Road, Scio. Caller reported a person yelling at boat ramp. Person yelling left prior to deputy’s arrival.

Welfare Check, 9:01 a.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. All was fine.

Neighborhood Dispute, 2:56 p.m., SW Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Male and female warned for disorderly conduct.

Traffic Stop, 5:29 p.m., Montgomery Drive, Scio. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Suspicious Circumstances, 8:35 p.m., Goar Road, Scio. Caller reported an odd letter found in a public place.

Hit and Run, 9:16 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Approximately 100 feet of fence was knocked down by a car that missed the stop sign. They did not report the damage but left their license plate on scene.

Motorist Assist, 9:55 p.m., Highway 22, Idanha. Male and female were in the area exploring. They found the gate open and no signs so they went to the top of the ridge for the view. Approximately 1 hour later they found the gate closed and discovered the sign on the gate. They were warned for trespass and let out.

Aug. 13

Traffic Hazard, 2:30 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road/Mertz Drive, Scio. Deer was dispatched with a single pistol round.

Extra Patrol, 3:22 a.m., SW Sixth Avenue, Scio. It was very quiet.

Extra Patrol, 6:43 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Traffic Hazard, 9:14 a.m., Kingston-Jordan Road/Ridge Drive, Scio. Report of several bicyclists on the road. Bicyclists were taking part in the 2023 Covered Bridge Bicycle Tour.

Traffic Stop, 12:03 p.m., SE Fairview Street/S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for moving violation.

Traffic Stop, 12:14 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Traffic Stop, 12:32 p.m., SE Kingwood and SE Fourth avenues, Mill City. Driver cited for 43 MPH in 25 MPH zone.

Shots Heard, 1:17 p.m., Monument Peak and Gates School roads, Gates. Deputies searched the area for people shooting. Deputies were unable to locate.

Missing Person, 2:16 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputies took a report of a missing 18-year-old male from Scio.

Animal Complaint, 4:19 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Report of horses outside with no water or shade. Deputies went to the residence and saw the horses had water and shade.

Parking Complaint, 4:59 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies contacted a vehicle parked in the Lyons Fire Emergency Draft Site. Owner moved vehicle and was warned.

Extra Patrol, 8:05 p.m., SW Sixth Avenue, Scio. Thomas Creek Estates.

Trespass, 8:42 p.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Deputy contacted property owner who wants individual trespassed from property.

DUII, 9:19 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Truck was legally parked with no one around. Bar is now closed, and they did not serve him earlier.

Disturbance, 10:11 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Caller reported a neighbor yelling at them. Neighbor was contacted and told to stop yelling.

Aug. 14

Theft, 3:34 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Caller arrived at work and found three log trucks with loose fuel caps. One truck was missing approximately 10 gallons of fuel. The suspects spilled most of the fuel carrying it to a getaway car. Caller will check for video at the site.

Disturbance, 3:45 a.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Caller is upset over his sister being loud. Due to her mental state and drug use, she cannot be reasoned with.

Disturbance, 8:18 a.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Deputies responded to a mental health call.

Dog Complaint, 10:45 a.m., SE Juniper Street, Mill City. Dogs on the road.

Welfare Check, 1:13 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Gates. Deputies assisted a homeless veteran who needed food and water. Resources were provided.

Accident, 6:21 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Parking lot collision. No injuries reported.

Suspicious Vehicle, 7:15 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Suspicious vehicle on private property. Property owner advised of private party tow procedure.

Suspicious Vehicle, 8:09 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Unable to locate.

Suspicious Vehicle, 8:43 p.m., Oupor Drive, Scio. Driver assisted in calling for a tow for vehicle stuck on shoulder of the road.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:39 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Gates. Unoccupied vehicle.

Fraud, 9:40 p.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Deputy took report of fraudulent use of credit card. Ongoing investigation.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:49 p.m., Oupor Drive/Karnosh Road, Scio. Driver assisted in calling a tow for vehicle stuck on shoulder of the road.
