March 26

Animal Complaint, 9:18 a.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Deputy investigated possible dog theft in Lyons/Mill City.

Dog Complaint, 10:12 a.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Deputy attempted to locate owner of stray dog.

Forest Timber Patrol, 11:47 a.m., Thomas Creek Drive, Scio. Deputy conducted security checks on logging equipment and found them all unsecured. No signs of tampering or theft.

Dog Complaint, 1:06 p.m., SW Dogwood Street, Scio. Dog owners cited for dog violations.

Traffic Stop, 1:33 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for illegal window tinting.

Trespass, 1:48 p.m., Ninth Street, Lyons. Two individuals were contacted and agreed to leave the area.

Suspicious Vehicle, 2:51 p.m., Thomas Creek Drive, Scio. Deputy conducted a stop with a suspected teenager but soon determined the male worked for a logging company and was just leaving site.

Dog Complaint, 3:09 p.m., SW Dogwood Street, Scio. Dog owners cited for dog violations.

Fireworks Complaint, 10:21 p.m., SE Whitten Road, Mill City. There were no parties or overly loud noise in the area when deputies arrived.

March 27

Extra Patrol, 2:26 a.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Extra patrol at property undergoing eviction process.

Traffic Stop, 2:02 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for speeding violation.

Traffic Stop, 2:27 p.m., Richardson Gap and Franklin Butte roads, Scio. Male, 51, of Lebanon was cited for driving while suspended and cited in lieu of custody on an outstanding warrant. Female, 38, of Mill City was cited in lieu of custody.

Trespass, 3:07 p.m., Zurfluh Road, Scio. Male was warned for trespassing.

Animal Complaint, 3:56 p.m., Stayton-Scio Loop, Scio. Deputies were called to assist in returning cows to their home. Deputy arrived and the landowner had already returned all the cows.

Traffic Stop, 5:19 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Disturbance, 9:54 p.m., NW Eighth Place, Mill City. Deputies responded to call of child crying in the area. Upon arrival, deputies did not hear any signs of disturbance or child crying. No further evidence of a crime in the area.

Suspicious Person, 10:40 p.m., SE Third Avenue, Mill City. Deputies contacted male who was playing frisbee with himself. Male appeared to be okay.

Traffic Stop, 10:55 p.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

March 28

Disturbance, 7:56 a.m., Robinson Drive, Scio. Male, 55, of Scio was arrested for attempted assault on a public safety officer, resisting arrest and harassment. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Mail Theft, 10:45 a.m., Third Street, Lyons. Possible mail theft. 

Disturbance, 11:48 a.m., 14th Street, Lyons. Deputies responded to report of two males fighting on the side of the road. Deputies were unable to locate.

Traffic Stop, 3:47 p.m., Fifth and Fir streets, Lyons. Driver warned for speed.

Traffic Stop, 4:07 p.m., Fifth and Dogwood streets, Lyons. Driver cited for driving while suspended.

Traffic Stop, 4:27 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Driver cited for driving while suspended and no insurance.

Traffic Stop, 4:50 p.m., Main and 10th streets, Lyons. Driver warned for expired tags.

Traffic Stop, 5:17 p.m., Fifth and Cedar streets, Lyons. Driver warned for expired tags.

March 29

Noise Disturbance, 12:42 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Males were dancing and busting all the moves with some loud tunes and were told to turn it down at night. Neighbor was trying to sleep. Males were very apologetic.

Animal Complaint, 9:32 a.m., SW Fifth Avenue, Scio. Dog owners issued written warning for nuisance barking.

Traffic Stop, 3:10 p.m., 15th and Main streets, Lyons. Driver cited for 62 MPH in 45 MPH zone, and warned for failure to carry proof of insurance, failure to display plates, failure to register vehicle.

Assist Other Agency, 8:11 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. AOA with medics for intoxicated subject.

Traffic Stop, 8:53 p.m., SW Broadway Street/SW Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to register vehicle.

Traffic Stop, 9:24 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to renew registration.

Suspicious Vehicle, 10:14 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Vehicle warned of trespass at closed park.

March 30

Cougar Sighting, 12:28 a.m., Monument Peak and Gates School roads, Gates. Deputy responded to a medical call with suspected cougar sighting. No cougar was seen by medics or deputy.

Juvenile Complaint, 8:27 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Caller reported ding-dong ditchers.

Burglary, 1:13 p.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Ex-boyfriend broke into a home while homeowner was inside. Male was escorted off the property by the owner’s mother. Ongoing investigation.

Traffic Complaint, 3:38 p.m., SW Alder Street, Scio. Report of ATV’s driving around Scio. Deputies unable to locate.

Traffic Complaint, 7:09 p.m., Monument Peak and Gates School roads, Gates. Deputy spoke with caller about a truck driving fast on a gravel road.

March 31

Suspicious Person, 12:42 a.m., Jefferson-Scio Drive, Scio. Deputies contacted a person walking on the side of the road. Deputies gave person a ride home.

Suspicious Vehicle, 1 p.m., Hungry Hill Drivee, Scio. Suspicious vehicle in area. Deputies checked and were not able to locate it.

Suspicious Circumstances, 1:45 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Animal bone located in river.

Trespass, 1:58 p.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Deputies responded and advised male not to return to property.

Traffic Complaint, 3:45 p.m., Gates School Road/Henness Lane, Gates. Deputies were unable to lcoate vehicles involved in a traffic complaint.

Suspicious Circumstances, 9:49 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Deputy checked apartment for tenant after hearing strange noises on their cameras. Nothing suspicious found.

Assist Other Agency, 9:52 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Deputies stood by with medics for a severely intoxicated person.

Traffic Stop, 10:44 p.m., SW Broadway Street/SW Third Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 10:49 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.
