July 19

Traffic Stop, 11:02 a.m., SW Sixth Avenue/Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned about seat belt use.

Traffic Stop, 11:14 a.m., NE Third Avenue, Scio. Driver cited for no seat belt.

Suspicious Person, 1:23 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Stayton. Deputy checked area for male yelling at cars and people passing by.

Civil Dispute, 1:59 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputy spoke to caller regarding civil dispute.

Civil Dispute, 5:51 p.m., SW Alder Street, Scio. Deputy answered questions regarding civil dispute.

July 20

Suspicious Circumstance, 7:57 a.m., Rodgers Mountain Loop, Scio. Deputies investigated suspicious fraudulent phone calls. No funds were taken from the individuals.

Civil Dispute, 10:17 a.m., Oupor Drive, Scio. Deputies advised parties involved in civil issues about solutions.

Suspicious Person, 10:42 a.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Deputies contacted male who was seen walking in the middle of the road. Male was given a courtesy ride.

Domestic Disturbance, 11:57 a.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Deputies attempted to contact parties involved in a disturbance. No parties were cooperative or willing to provide further information.

Extra Patrol, 12:20 p.m., SE Juniper Street, Mill City. Deputies contacted individual with trailer and awning that was partially in the roadway. Parts that were in the roadway were moved.

Suspicious Vehicle, 8:09 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Owner of a trailer with a flat tire told deputies they would come back at a later date to have the trailer removed. Deputies advised if it wasn’t removed in a timely manner the owner would be cited for abandoning the vehicle.

Suspicious Circumstance, 10:31 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Caller reported someone had thrown an object at their house. Deputies were unable to locate the person or object thrown.

July 21

Traffic Hazard, 2:41 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Deputies detour traffic until Pacific Power could cut away low-hanging power lines caused by a large, fallen tree branch.

Civil Dispute, 8:27 a.m., Shelburn Drive, Scio. Deputies spoke to an individual regarding a civil issue.

Accident, 9:57 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road/Brock Drive, Scio. Two-vehicle crash. Male, 19, cited for careless driving. Second driver sustained a minor injury. Both vehicles were towed.

Illegal Camping, 11:59 a.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies responded to a possible abandoned vehicle. Vehicle was not abandoned and individuals were allowed to be there.

UEMV, 12:53 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Deputies investigated.

Traffic Stop, 1:57 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Driver cited for speed.

Traffic Stop, 3:40 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Threats, 3:45 p.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. Caller reported threats from a scam call.

Traffic Stop, 4:31 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for 44 MPH in 25 MPH zone.

Forest Timber Patrol, 5:08 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Gates. Patrolled ODF land.

Traffic Stop, 5:48 p.m., NE Wall Street, Mill City. Driver warned for no seat belt.

Traffic Stop, 6:45 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended.

Burglary, 8:19 p.m., SE Fifth Avenue, Scio. Caller wanted an incident documented.

Suspicious Circumstance, 8:44 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Juveniles seen going into an abandoned business. Deputies identified the juveniles and notified their parents. Deputies are in the process of notifying the business owner to see next steps.

July 22

Suspicious Circumstance, 3:03 a.m., SW Second Avenue, Mill City. Two juveniles seen messing around in the houses under construction. Deputies were unable to locate juveniles.

Suspicious Vehicle, 7:12 a.m., Oupor Drive, Scio. When moving a truck at night, the truck broke down and the owners left it parked on private property.

Suspicious Person, 8:42 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Male sleeping on private property was asked to leave by deputies.

Suspicious Circumstance, 10:22 a.m., Blowout Road, Idanha. Camper called to see options having overstayed people leave a campsite he had reservations for.

Suspicious Circumstance, 12:49 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies provided couple with resource pamphlet.

Accident, 1:49 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Non-injury crash.

Dog Complaint, 3:45 p.m., SW Cherry Street, Scio. Deputies transported stray dog to Animal Control.

Trespass, 7:53 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Report of trespassing. Property owner did not wish to press charges but wanted suspect counseled.

Accident, 9:22 p.m., Blowout Road, Idanha. Vehicle vs pedestrian injury crash at Cove Creek Campground. Two juveniles sustained non-life threatening injuries; one transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Driver was cooperative and remained at scene. 

Fireworks Complaint, 9:36 p.m., SW Eighth Avenue, Mill City. Deputies responded to the report of fireworks going off. No fireworks were seen or heard.

Traffic Stop, 10:56 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Driver warned for failure to maintain lane.

Traffic Stop, 11:21 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Driver cited for driving while suspended, failure to have proof of insurance on vehicle, failure to carry proof of registration for vehicle and failure to maintain lane.

July 23

Dog Complaint, 8:58 a.m., SW Parkside Drive, Mill City. Deputies responded to a house due to hound dogs barking.

Warrant, 11:06 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Male, 61, of Mill City cited for warrant out of Lebanon Justice Court.

Traffic Stop, 11:45 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver verbally warned for equipment violation.

Criminal Mischief, 2:59 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputies responded to a burn complaint.

July 24

Parking Complaint, 8:53 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Vehicles parked in no parking zones outside of Scio.

Traffic Stop, 10:30 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver stopped for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 1:19 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Driver warned for not placing new tags on registered vehicle.

Traffic Stop, 1:42 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Driver warned for having an unreadable license plate.

Traffic Stop, 7:44 p.m., Highway 22, Idanha. Driver cited for passing in a no passing zone.

July 25

Traffic Hazard, 6:09 a.m., Gilkey Road, Scio. Dead deer. Road Department will pick up.

Accident, 7:50 a.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Motorcyclist crashed to avoid a collision with a deer. Rider was transported to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic Stop, 9:24 a.m., NE Santiam Blvd./NE Seventh Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for 56 MPH in 40 MPH zone.

Theft, 12:39 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Someone tampered with a meter at the Mobile fuel station.

Littering, 1:25 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Female reported her neighbor dumping lawn debris on her father’s property. Deputy responded and did not see any evidence of the report.

Dog Bite, 1:47 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Issued quarantine order to dog keeper.

Traffic Hazard, 2:38 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road/Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputy provided traffic control while Scio Fire put out a field fire.

Theft, 4:11 p.m., Jefferson-Scio Drive, Scio. Caller wished to report a theft but was not cooperative with reporting the incident to deputies.

Traffic Hazard, 6:40 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Area still had access to fire replenishment area.

Assist Other Agency, 7:21 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputies responded to a call of a female drowning. Female was given CPR and transported by medics.

Found Property, 7:45 p.m., Locust Street, Lyons. Deputies responded to found property call at boat ramp in Lyons.

Juvenile Complaint, 8:40 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputies responded to a call of a juvenile napping in the park. Juvenile was checked by medics and taken back to residence.

Harassment, 9:46 p.m., SW High Avenue, Mill City. Deputies investigated possible crime involving a jogger.
