Dog Complaint, 8:29 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Local rafters rescued a dog stuck on river bank and returned it to its owner.

Neighborhood Dispute, 12:29 p.m., SW Dogwood Street, Scio. Caller wanted to talk to deputy regarding harassment from neighbor of frequently reporting their dogs at large.

Accident, 1 p.m., Richardson Gap Road/Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Single-vehicle crash into utility pole. No injuries reported.

Traffic Stop, 2:24 p.m., SW 11th Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for driving with a suspended license.

Extra Patrol, 2:50 p.m., Sixth Street, Lyons. Extra patrol through neighborhoods.

Traffic Stop, 2:54 p.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Driver cited for driving with a suspended license.

Traffic Stop, 3:21 p.m., 13th Street, Lyons. Driver cited for driving while suspended violation and driving uninsured.

Extra Patrol, 3:25 p.m., W Main Street, Lyons. Deputies spent half the day patrolling and enforcing traffic in Lyons. Stopped eight vehicles. Issued four warnings and four citations.

Traffic Stop, 3:52 p.m., Highway 226/Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Driver warned for failure to register vehicle.

Assist Other Agency, 4:05 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputy assisted Marion County Sheriff’s Office with recovering a stolen truck.

Event Detail, 7:45 p.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Deputies attended Lyons City Council meeting and answered questions on some homelessness initiatives, soliciting support of the cities.

Traffic Stop, 10:22 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured.

Extra Patrol, 3:32 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Warrant, 7:06 a.m., River Loop Road, Lyons. Female, 18, of Lyons was cited on an outstanding warrant.

Traffic Stop, 8:13 a.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Driver warned for no front license plate.

Traffic Stop, 8:23 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for no license plates. Temp plate was behind tinted rear windshield.

Theft, 8:49 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputies investigated trespass and theft of clothing. Reporting party did not want to press charges but wanted the individuals trespassed.

Foot Patrol, 8:57 a.m., SE Sixth Avenue, Mill City. Deputies conducted foot patrols of local park.

Extra Patrol, 9:29 a.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Searched or vehicle associated with theft case.

Lost Property, 12:11 p.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Caller lost his Winchester shotgun after shooting on Upper Neal Creek. The shotgun was entered as stolen into a law enforcement database.

Forest Timber Patrol, 12:15 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Contacted two groups lawfully shooting in the BLM rock pit at mile marker 2. Reported potential game violation to OSP. No other activity observed.

Assist Other Agency, 12:57 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Deputy located an elk carcass on BLM land. Deputy coordinated with OSP Fish and Game, who will look into it.

Traffic Stop, 1:40 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Driver warned for speed and no front plate.

Dog Complaint, 2:18 p.m., S First Avenue/SW Cedar Street, Mill City. No public narrative.

Elude, 2:49 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver, 39, of Mill City was arrested and booked on elude and an outstanding warrant. Driver was also cited into the Mill City Municipal Court for driving while suspended and failure to display plates.

Trespass, 3:14 p.m., Providence Drive, Scio. Caller reported someone trespassing on a vacant property.

Suspicious Circumstances, 3:55 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Deputy contacted male reported to be taking donated clothes out of the Service Center donation bin. Deputy and male came to an understanding that it wasn’t a free-for-all and he agreed to return the clothes. Service center did not want to pursue charges.

Harassment, 3:57 p.m., SW Dogwood Street, Scio. Deputy spoke with caller regarding neighborhood dispute, possible telephonic harassment.

Suspicious Vehicle, 7:41 p.m., 13th Street, Lyons. Deputy checked the area and did not locate.

Extra Patrol, 8:35 p.m., Cedar Mill Road, Lyons. Nothing suspicious.

Traffic Stop, 11:41 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Male, 38, of Lyons was arrested on a PC Affidavit for assault IV felony domestic and lodged at Linn County Jail. Male was cited for driving uninsured, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, and failure to display plates.

Dec. 21

Welfare Check, 8:13 a.m., Monument Peak and Gates School roads, Gates. Deputies checked on individuals stranded outside of Mill City.

Traffic Stop, 9:40 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to obey traffic control device.

Traffic Stop, 10:10 a.m., NE Wall Street/N First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to obey traffic control device.

Extra Patrol, 10:22 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Extra patrol at school grounds and park.

Traffic Stop, 10:42 a.m., SE Kingwood and S First avenues, Mill City. Driver warned for expired registration. 

Prowler, 9:07 p.m., 25th Street, Lyons. Deputy responded to prowler call and found no prowler. The woman who called was having medical issues and was transported to the hospital.

Suspicious Person, 9:51 p.m., SE Myrtle Street/NE Second Avenue, Mill City. Deputy responded to suspicious circumstance involving power tool usage at a late hour in a strange location. Deputy found the noise was an individual changing a tire.

Dec. 22

Traffic Stop, 7:23 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for speed and failure to carry proof of current insurance.

Traffic Stop, 7:48 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for speed and failure to carry current proof of insurance.

Welfare Check, 9 a.m., Locust Street, Lyons. Welfare check of male in car at boat ramp.

Traffic Stop, 10:01 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended violation.

Traffic Stop, 10:04 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Suspicious Vehicle, 10:30 p.m., Honey Bear Road, Scio. Male was hunting on private property with permission from property owner.

Suspicious Circumstances, 11:14 a.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. Deputy documented suspicious circumstance of culvert being cleared of an obstruction.

Noise Disturbance, 11:39 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Noise complaint. Victim did not wish to pursue charges. Violator was warned about continued behavior.

Suspicious Circumstances, 11:41 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Citizen requested extra patrol.

Forest Timber Patrol, 12:31 p.m., Monument Peak Road, Gates. No one seen. Checked burned trailer site.

Motorist Assist, 12:44 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Deputy helped push truck out of road.

Theft, 12:46 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputy took initial report of theft from convenience store. Ongoing investigation.

Overdose, 2:05 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputy assisted medics with fentanyl overdose. Subject refused treatment and went to hospital with family member.

Suspicious Vehicle, 2:35 p.m., Freeman Road/Highway 226, Scio. Female, 56, of Lebanon was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody on a Lebanon Municipal Court and a Linn County Justice Court warrants.

Accident, 3:37 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputy responded to a non-injury crash and helped exchange driver information.

Traffic Stop, 3:39 p.m., SW Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to register vehicle.

Traffic Stop, 4:41 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for improper display.

Domestic Disturbance, 4:46 p.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputies responded. No crimes reported.

Traffic Stop, 9:22 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

Armed Disturbance, 10:38 a.m., Cedar Street, Lyons. Male, 60, of Lyons was arrested for unlawful use of weapon and recklessly endangering another person.

Juvenile Complaint, 4:29 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Caller reported kids possibly attempting to damage property. This has been an ongoing problem. Caller confronted kids before property was damaged.

Burglary, 8:28 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. No public narrative.

Motorist Assist, 11:22 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputies helped get out a car stuck in driveway ditch. 

Dec. 24

Criminal Mischief, 12:03 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputies took a report of criminal mischief. Nephew damaged aunt’s vehicle, resulting in approximately $2,500 in damages. Ongoing investigation.

Theft, 2:06 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputy documented a wallet that was missing cash when returned to its owner.

Assist Other Agency, 2:46 p.m., NW River Road/NW Seventh Place, Mill City. OSP requested LCSO assistance.

Assault, 6:53 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Stayton. Male, 62, of Stayton was arrested for assault IV domestic and violation of a court’s stalking order x 2.

Traffic Stop, 9:13 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Driver was issued multiple traffic violation citations and vehicle was impounded.

Domestic Disturbance, 11:15 p.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Deputies were called to a family disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.
