City takes over Fourth event

The city of Mill City has elected to take over the annual 4th of July Celebration after no volunteers stepped up to coordinate the annual event. The theme for 2023 is “Freedom Isn’t Free ~ A Tribute to Our Veterans.”

“It is late in the game for putting together such a large event, but we’re stepping up to the plate to make it happen in 2023,” city officials stated in The Mill City Messenger.

The following events have been confirmed as happening: parade, vendors in Kimmel Park, fireworks, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, Rick Posekany Memorial Run, Lions Club breakfast and horseshoes.

The deadline for horseshoe and baskeball tregistration is June 23. The vendor deadline is June 27.

Registration forms are available at City Hall for the various events or can be emailed if a request is sent to [email protected].
