Applications for scholarships and grants from the Mike Long Youth Benefit Golf Tournament for the 2024 Award Year are now being accepted. Thanks to the success of last year’s 22nd annual Mike Long Youth Benefit Golf Tournament, $26,000 for grants and scholarships will be distributed in 2024. High school seniors and organizations serving young people in the greater Santiam Canyon area (Stayton-Sublimity to Detroit-Idanha) are eligible to apply. Deadline for applications is March 1.
Scholarships: Graduating seniors from Regis High School, Santiam High School, Stayton High School and the Oregon Charter Academy (ORCA) who reside in the Santiam Canyon are eligible to apply for scholarships. Scholarships are awarded based on: community service, school activities, leadership activities, honors/awards and grade point average (GPA).
Funding Assistance Grants: Programs that benefit young people in the Santiam Canyon are eligible to apply for funding assistance grants.
Applications: Scholarship and Funding Assistance Grant applications are available for download on the website at www.ybgolf.com. Send five copies of the completed application forms to: Youth Benefit Golf Scholarship Committee, 21 SW 11 th Avenue, Mill City, OR 97360. The deadline for submission is March 1, 2024.
The next tournament is Sept. 14, 2024. Since 2001, more than $380,000 has been raised and more than 250 grants and 155 scholarships have been awarded.
