Sept. 25

Disturbance, 2:43 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputies responded to an altercation between a male and female. Parties separated prior to deputies’ arrival. Deputies contacted female who refused to provide any suspect information and stated she no longer wanted help.

Theft, 9:40 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road. Male, 43, of Stayton was arrested for menacing, unlawful use of a weapon and felon in possession of a restricted weapon.

Disorderly Conduct, 11:16 a.m., NW Ninth Avenue, Mill City. Deputies trespassed two people from a local store after a verbal altercation.

Found Property, 2:06 p.m., Loma Drive, Scio. Deputy seized medications for destruction per a citizen’s request.

Welfare Check, 5:17 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Male was doing well.

Accident, 6:48 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Deputy responded to a single-vehicle, injury crash. Driver was cited for careless driving and failure to drive within lane.

Welfare Check, 10:12 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Male was well.

Sept. 26

Warrant, 11 a.m., Crackerneck Drive, Scio. Female, 50, of Scio was arrested for an outstanding warrant and lodged at Linn County Jail.

Assist Other Agency, 11:12 a.m., SE Grove Street, Mill City. Deputy assisted APS on interview of elderly female. Nothing criminal reported.

Illegal Camping, 12:07 p.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Deputy was unable to locate tents or people from suspected illegal camp site.

Traffic Stop, 5:29 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

Sept. 27

Criminal Mischief, 10:55 a.m., 18th Street, Lyons. Deputies took a report of graffiti vandalism at a mill.

Theft, 11:10 a.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Caller reported his garbage can was stolen overnight.

Fraud, 3:35 p.m., Juniper Street, Lyons. Deputies contacted a person reporting fraudulent use of a credit card. Crimes occurred in Portland and Florence. Caller was referred to those agencies.

Prowler, 4:05 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Deputy responded to possible prowler that was in fact the property owner.

Traffic Stop, 7:23 p.m., SE Kingwood and S First avenues, Mill City. Driver cited for 40 MPH in 25 MPH zone.

Traffic Stop, 7:39 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for expired tags.

Domestic Disturbance, 8:37 p.m., Dogwood Road, Mill City. Deputies responded to a verbal altercation between a male and female. Both parties had calmed down and no crimes were reported.

Sept. 28

Traffic Stop, 2:39 a.m., N First Avenue/NE Wall Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Park Patrol, 3:14 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Traffic Stop, 4:02 a.m., SE Kingwood and SE Fifth avenues, Mill City. Driver cited for 44 MPH in 25 MPH one.

Traffic Stop, 4:22 a.m., SW Kingwood and SW Second avenues, Mill City. Driver cited for 45 MPH in 25 MPH one, driving without privileges, no ignition interlock device and driving uninsured.

Traffic Stop, 5:34 a.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Welfare Check, 9:52 a.m., SW Parkside Drive, Mill City. Deputies contacted DHS regarding case detectives have been investigating. Information was passed on.

Traffic Stop, 1:16 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive/SW 11th Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Traffic Stop, 2:49 p.m., NE Wall Street/N First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to obey traffic control device.

Traffic Stop, 3:09 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for failure to obey traffic control device.

Traffic Stop, 3:11 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver cited for 57 MPH in 40 MPH zone.

Traffic Stop, 3:30 p.m., SE Kingwood and S First avenues, Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Traffic Stop, 3:26 p.m., N First Avenue/NE Wall Street, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to stop at stop sign.

Traffic Complaint, 4:39 p.m., Jefferson-Scio Drive/W Scio Road, Scio. Report of vehicle driving erratic. Deputies were unable to locate.

Traffic Complaint, 5:22 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies unable to catch up to a vehicle traveling at high rate of speed.

Suspicious Circumstances, 6:21 p.m., Rodgers Mountain Loop, Scio. Citizen reported a problem house in area with a lot of traffic in and out.

Traffic Hazard, 7:39 p.m., Jefferson-Scio Drive/W Scio Road, Scio. Single-vehicle crash. Vehicle hit sheep on road. Driver reported no injuries. Owner of sheep was notified and came to location and secured the remaining sheep.

Sept. 29

Extra Patrol, 7:52 a.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Centennial Elementary.

Extra Patrol, 9:27 a.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Mari-Linn School.

Narcotics Offense, 9:37 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputy took report of possible narcotics offense. Info relayed to LINE Team.

Person Assist, 12:01 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputies assisted a citizen.

Animal Complaint, 1:39 p.m., Freeman Road/Highway 226, Scio. Caller reported sheep on Highway 226.

Suspicious Circumstances, 2:13 p.m., Rodgers Mountain Loop, Scio. Caller reported suspicious vehicle traffic.

Accident, 3:25 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputy helped drivers exchange information at non-injury crash.

Criminal Mischief, 4:52 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputy investigated a bent driveway gate and torn sign. No suspect information.

Noise Disturbance, 7:12 p.m., Kelly Road, Scio. Caller had questions regarding riding side by side on public roads.

Civil Dispute, 7:51 p.m., Crabtree Drive/Leslie Lane, Scio. Caller had questions regarding landlord moving her belongings out of a house and lock her out.

Sept. 30

Death Investigation, 9:45 a.m., Ash Lane, Lyons. Deputy investigated death of elderly female. Death was not suspicious in nature.

Burglary, 10:01 a.m., SE Juniper Street, Mill City. Burglary at Mill City Grill. Safe was stolen. Ongoing investigation.

Animal Complaint, 10:35 a.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Horses wandering Roaring River Park. Owners were contacted and made aware of situation.

Motorist Assist, 2:49 p.m., Highway 226/Echo Hill Road, Scio. Deputy assisted stranded motorist.

Traffic Complaint, 3:45 p.m., Miller Cemetery Road/Shelburn Drive, Scio. Traffic complaint from a single caller. No other reports. No deputies in area.

Traffic Complaint, 4:21 p.m., Sixth and Main streets, Lyons. Citizen called in traffic complaint.

Fraud, 7:20 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Deputy conducted fraud investigation.

Oct. 1

Dog Complaint, 4:51 p.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Caller had issue with neighbor’s dog.

Oct. 2

Animal Complaint, 4:33 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputy responded and euthanized an injured deer.

Suspicious Person, 11:54 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Suspicious person left area before deputy’s arrival.

Fraud, 2:40 p.m., Carmel Lane, Scio. Deputies investigated online fraud.

Suspicious Person, 2:56 p.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Deputies responded to male trespassing on school grounds. Male told to leave and left property.

Disturbance, 5:12 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Deputies investigated a harassment involving juvenile male and the male’s girlfriend’s father.

Suspicious Circumstance, 5:53 p.m., Gray Pine Street, Lyons. Report of furnishing alcohol to a minor. Ongoing investigation.
