Linn County Sheriff’s Office Log: Feb. 2 – 6

Feb. 2

Mental Health, 7:32 a.m., SW Second Avenue, Mill City. Male called and advised he was suffering from a mental crisis. Male was offered resources and declined them before hanging up on dispatch.

Assist Other Agency, 9:56 a.m., Fisher Street, Scio. Deputy stood by while DHS spoke with an unruly family. DHS conversation went well.

Warrant, 11:40 a.m., Fisher Street, Scio. Male, 40, of Crabtree was arrested for outstanding warrants. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Suspicious Circumstances, 12:02 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Caller reported someone cut the lock off their trailer. Person was contacted and provided proof that the cut lock was based on a Facebook ad for free trailer. This was a misunderstanding and victim did not wish to pursue charges.

Parking Complaint, 1:57 p.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. 

Suicidal Subject, 3:40 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies took a report of a suicidal person living out of their vehicle. There was no solid location information and the male was not located. Valley-wide BOLO was sent out.

Traffic Hazard, 4:06 p.m., Montgomery Drive/Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Caller reported sign on the side of the road was causing a hazard. Sign did not create a hazard.

Suspicious Vehicle, 8:19 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Owner called in a vehicle parked in the parking lot after hours. Deputies contacted the driver who worked for Santiam Health Clinics and was taking an after-hours intake phone call. Driver was asked to move to a public parking spot.

Suspicious Person, 11:01 p.m., NE Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Deputy responded to a suspicious person call and was unable to locate any people in the area.

Domestic Disturbance, 11:39 p.m., Fir Street, Lyons. Deputies spoke to parents about their relationship issues and child custody issues. Nothing criminal.

Feb. 3

Traffic Stop, 9:04 a.m., NE Ash Street/NE Fourth Avenue, Scio. Driver cited for speed.

Traffic Stop, 9:19 a.m., NW Fourth Avenue/N Main Street, Scio. Driver cited for speed.

Traffic Hazard, 11:57 a.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Deputies towed a vehicle that was partially blocking a portion of road with blind corners. Deputies made several attempts to contact the owner prior to towing vehicle.

Citizen Contact, 3:19 p.m., Rodgers Mountain Loop, Scio. Deputy assisted female with hanging no trespassing notices.

Extra Patrol, 4:05 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Traffic patrol.

Trespass, 4:15 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive/Jordan Road, Scio. Deputy located subjects driving Jeeps off road in an area where they weren’t allowed. Drivers were educated and cooperative.

Extra Patrol, 5:25 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. All was well.

Welfare Check, 7:47 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Welfare check on female. She was fine.

Fight Disturbance, 11:45 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputies responded to physical disturbance and found it began after a male’s money was stolen.

Feb. 4

Prowler, 12:53 a.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Deputy responded to a prowler call and was unable to locate anyone.

Dog Complaint, 8:02 a.m., Kingwood Avenue, Gates. Deputy took a report of chickens being killed by two unknown dogs. Ongoing investigation.

Traffic Stop, 8:04 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 8:05 a.m., NE Fourth Avenue, Scio. Driver warned for improper display.

Forest Timber Patrol, 8:32 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Replaced some boulders on the WeyCo gravel pit.

Traffic Stop, 10:22 a.m., NE Santiam Blvd./NE Alder Street, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to display plates.

Traffic Stop, 10:31 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for driving uninsured.

Warrant, 11:02 a.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Male, 47, of Mill City was arrested on a LInn County warrant.

Found Dog, 11:16 a.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Dog found running down the road was unable to be caught after it ran into the woods.

Trespass, 11:17 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Male was advised he was not allowed to stay on closed business property.

Traffic Stop, 11:33 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road/Slangal Drive, Scio. Driver cited for no operator’s license, driving uninsured and improper display of tags.

Littering Violation, 12:08 p.m., NE Wall Street, Mill City. Report of cardboard left near business. Caller plans to recycle the cardboard.

Traffic Stop, 12:47 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Driver cited for speeding.

Traffic Stop, 1:02 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Deputies stopped a vehicle for expired insurance. Driver was able to provide current proof of insurance.

Animal Complaint, 1:15 p.m., Kingwood Avenue, Gates. Deputy took report of two cats likely killed by a dog.

Civil Dispute, 1:33 p.m., W Scio Road, Scio. Civil disagreement between two parents over custody agreement.

Traffic Stop, 4:20 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Civil Dispute, 4:48 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Civil disagreement between auto repair shop and customer.

Traffic Stop, 4:49 p.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Driver cited for driving uninsured.

Suspicious Person, 5:16 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Deputy checked on welfare of male seated outside a closed business.

Welfare Check, 7:47 p.m., W McCully Mountain Drive, Lyons. Deputy checked on welfare of an individual. Individual needed no assistance and was not a danger to themselves.

Sex Offense, 8:58 p.m., SW Hall Avenue, Mill City. No public narrative.

Feb. 5

Menacing, 3:22 a.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputies responded to disturbance. Female, 47, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and lodged at Linn County Jail. Ongoing investigation.

Disturbance, 5:07 a.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputy had male leave who was causing disturbance.

Suspicious Person, 8:08 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputy spoke with male who was sitting alongside the road. Male did not want assistance.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9 a.m., W Central Avenue, Gates. Deputies located unoccupied, suspicious vehicle.

Warrant, 9:43 a.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Female, 31, of Mill City was arrested on an outstanding warrant and lodged at county jail.

Welfare Check, 10:10 a.m., Third Street, Scio. Deputy performed welfare check on male and his son. They were OK.

Forest Timber Patrol, 10:44 a.m., Monument Peak Road, Gates.

Assist Other Agency, 11:48 a.m., Fisher Street, Scio. Assisted DHS.

Trespass, 12:27 p.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. School reported a juvenile was trespassing on school property.

Suspicious Circumstances, 2:34 p.m., Henness Lane, Gates. Trailer abandoned on ODF last summer was burned down. Deputy saw the trailer intact sometime late November or early December.

Extra Patrol, 3:02 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Extra patrol in Mill City and Lyons to look for owner of a trailer at Monument Peak.

Illegal Camping, 3:36 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Illegal camp at DOT scales. Warning given.

Welfare Check, 3:57 p.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Deputies conducted welfare check on a male after missing his doctor’s appointment. Male was doing well, just forgot the appointment.

Traffic Stop, 5:04 p.m., Shimanek Bridge Drive/Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Driver cited for driving uninsured.

Traffic Stop, 5:33 p.m., Cedar and Fifth streets, Lyons. Driver cited for driving while suspended.

Domestic Disturbance, 5:36 p.m., S McCully Mountain Road, Lyons. Female, 68, of Lyons was arrested for harassment and lodged at Linn County Jail.

Accident, 6:45 p.m., Richardson Gap Road/Montgomery Drive, Scio. No public narrative.

Traffic Stop, 7:59 p.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for expired tags.

Extra Patrol, 8:22 p.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Extra patrols at school, businesses and the park.

Traffic Stop, 9:15 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to obey traffic control device.

Feb. 6

Runaway, 7:39 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive. Caller reported her juvenile daughter as a runaway. Deputies located the juvenile and returned her to her mother.

Traffic Stop, 10:21 a.m., NW Fourth Avenue/N Main Street, Scio. Driver cited for failing to renew registration and failing to provide proof of insurance.

Forest Timber Patrol, 11:17 a.m., Monument Peak Road, Gates.

Narcotics Offense, 11:40 a.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Traffic complaint. Driver was cited for driving while suspended violation and driving uninsured. Passenger, male, 46, of Lebanon was arrested on a Philomath warrant and cited for violation PCS meth. He was transported to Linn County Jail.
