Sept. 2

Suspicious Person, 2:01 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Caller reported male approached them at store and was confrontational. Deputies were unable to locate.

Suspicious Vehicle, 3:49 a.m., 24th Street/Apple Loop, Lyons. Male, 43, arrested for outstanding warrant.

Traffic Stop, 7:44 a.m., Highway 226/Shindler Bridge Drive, Scio. Driver warned for failure to obey traffic device.

Traffic Stop, 8:03 a.m., Highway 226/SE Ash Street, Scio. Driver warned for moving violation.

Traffic Stop, 8:28 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver cited for speed.

Traffic Stop, 9:03 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Driver warned for failure to renew registration.

Traffic Stop, 9:19 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

Traffic Stop, 9:35 a.m., Highway 226/SW Sixth Avenue, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

Elude, 10:42 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputies searched for vehicle involved in an elude.

Accident, 12:48 p.m., SW 11th and Kingwood avenues, Mill City. Deputies investigated a low-impact crash. One driver cited for failure to drive within lane. One driver cited for driving uninsured.

Found Dog, 1:03 p.m., Montgomery Drive, Scio. Deputy picked up a found dog and lodged it at Animal Control.

Forest Timber Patrol, 3:37 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Deputy contacted a group of ATV riders. Four riders were cited for riding without an approved helmet. All were warned for riding in violation of the Fire Protection Order.

Traffic Stop, 4:28 p.m., N Main Street, Lyons. Driver cited for driving uninsured.

Suspicious Circumstances, 7:53 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Caller reported a possible sex offense. Deputies responded and learned it was adults and not criminal.

Suspicious Person, 11:55 p.m., NE Alder Street, Mill City. Caller reported suspicious person. Deputy located intoxicated subject who was too intoxicated to make it home. He was given a ride.

Sept. 3

Traffic Stop, 4:48 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for window tint.

Traffic Stop, 11:04 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd./NW Ninth Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for failure to renew vehicle registration.

Traffic Stop, 11:20 a.m., Robinson Drive/W Scio Road, Scio. Male, 52, of Scio was arrested and lodged at Marion County Jail for a Marion County warrant. He was cited in lieu of custody for Linn County Justice Court warrant. He was also cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Assist Other Agency, 2:19 p.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Deputies assisted MCSO take a person into custody for several warrants and several elude charges.

Dog Complaint, 2:52 p.m., Stayton-Scio Loop, Scio. Deputy spoke with neighbors about a dog chasing bunnies.

Traffic Stop, 4:08 p.m., NE Ash Street/NE First Avenue, Scio. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 5:39 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Driver cited for driving uninsured.

Sept. 4

Welfare Check, 2:08 p.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. Deputies conducted a welfare check on a female yelling near John Neal Park. Female was OK.

Traffic Complaint, 6:03 p.m., 25th Street/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputies unable to locate reported vehicle driving at a high rate of speed.

Traffic Hazard, 8:55 p.m., Sandner Drive/Kingston-Jordan Road, Scio. Deputies located a cow in the middle of the road. The cow went into a field

Traffic Stop, 10:41 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive/Rio Vista Lane, Lyons. Driver cited for driving uninsured.

Sept. 5

Traffic Stop, 12:04 a.m., SW Kingwood and SW Second avenues, Mill City. Driver cited for driving uninsured and failure to display plates.

Extra Patrol, 7:03 a.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Deputies spend time at local schools for first day of school.

Extra Patrol, 7:08 a.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Deputies conduct extra patrol during the first day of school.

Extra Patrol, 7:13 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputies visited with staff and incoming freshmen.

Traffic Stop, 8:03 a.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Driver cited for 52 MPH in 35 zone.

Hit and Run, 8:58 a.m., NE Wall and NE Alder streets, Mill City. Deputies took report of hit and run of a stop sign.

Suspicious Circumstances, 2:11 p.m., SW Filbert Street, Scio. Deputies spoke with individual regarding possible violation.

Phone Harassment, 3:42 p.m., SE Myrtle Street, Mill City. Deputies spoke with individual regarding possible telephone harassment.

Traffic Stop, 7:08 p.m., Highway 226/SW Sixth Avenue, Scio. Driver cited for 65 MPH in 45 MPH zone.

Harassment, 7:22 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Male, 25, of Aumsville was arrested for harassment and lodged at Linn County Jail.

Traffic Stop, 7:25 p.m., NW Beech Street/NW First Avenue, Scio. Driver warned for expired tags.

Criminal Mischief, 8:09 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Male, 25, of Aumsville was arrested for criminal mischief II and criminal trespass II x 2. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Sept. 6

Extra Patrol, 8:55 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputies went to Scio High to meet and greet new students.

Traffic Stop, 11:07 a.m., Highway 226/SE Second Avenue, Scio. Driver cited for operating without privileges.

Traffic Stop, 11:17 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Driver warned for expired registration.

Traffic Stop, 2:12 p.m., NE Alder Street, Mill City. Driver warned for failing to register within 30 days.

Parking Complaint, 3:35 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Deputy spoke with resident about parking complaint. Resident said they would let the truck owner know of parking issue.

Traffic Stop, 4:39 p.m., N First Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for failure to register vehicle.

OD Ingestion Poisoning, 10:22 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputies respond to report of female sleeping in car. Female moved along.

Suspicious Vehicle, 10:43 p.m., Kingston-Jordan Road, Scio. Deputy documented info regarding a suspicious vehicle.

Shots Heard, 11:42 p.m., Oupor Drive, Scio. Caller reported hearing repeated gun shots. Source was an agricultural propane cannon in the corn fields.

Sept. 7

Traffic Stop, 8:02 a.m., Highway 226/Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Driver cited for driving while suspended violation and driving uninsured.

Littering Violation, 9:16 a.m., Gilkey Road, Scio. Property owner advised of ability to tow and remove trash left on private property.

Forest Timber Patrol, 4:48 p.m., Parish Lake Road/Highway 22, Idanha. One camp contacted as they were starting to light a campfire.

Shots Heard, 9:05 p.m., E Gates Bridge, Gates. Caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the area and hearing three gunshots. Deputy checked area. Vehicle was gone. No indications of criminal activity. 

Traffic Stop, 9:41 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Driver warned for moving violation.

Accident, 11:10 p.m., Kingwood Avenue/Rock Creek Road, Mill City. Deputy struck an elk causing damage to patrol car.

Sept. 8

Accident, 8:52 a.m., Mowitch Street/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Non-injury accident. No property damage. 

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:06 a.m., Rock Creek Road, Gates. Vehicle blocking road was moved.

Extra Patrol, 9:52 a.m., S First Ave., Mill City. Deputies conduct extra patrol and check warrant status on individuals with possible warrants walking along the road.

Fraud, 1:21 p.m., Rainbow Drive, Scio. Caller reported his address was changed with Social Security and her last check was not direct deposited. 

Trespass, 5:27 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies contacted individuals and learned they were not trespassing.

DUII, 6:56 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road/Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputies contacted suspect vehicle that had already arrived at its destination. No signs of impairment.

Noise Disturbance, 8:36 p.m., Oupor Drive/Meritt Road, Scio. Caller reported hearing a cannon-like sound every 30 seconds. Caller advised it is agricultural equipment and was non-criminal.

Suspicious Person, 9:02 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive/Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Caller reported seeing a male in a wheelchair on the side of road. Deputies were unable to locate.

Traffic Complaint, 11:35 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road/Sandner Drive, Scio. Caller reported a careless driver.

Sept. 9

Traffic Stop, 12:10 a.m., Kingwood and 11th avenues, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Warrant, 12:42 a.m., Sw Ivy Street, Mill City. Male, 36, of Mill City was arrested on an outstanding warrant and lodged at Marion County Jail.

Extra Patrol, 5 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Caller reported a suspicious person at Kimmel Park. The incident happened several days previous.

Assist Other Agency, 9:03 p.m., Blowout Road/Highway 22, Idanha. Deputy responded to assist with traffic control for Life Flight.

Sept. 10

Phone Harassment, 3:02 p.m., NE Alder Street, Mill City. Deputies spoke with individual regarding male who was advised to stop contacting caller.

Traffic Stop, 6:46 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Traffic Stop, 6:57 p.m., SN First Avenue/NE Wall Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 7:13 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver cited for 32 MPH in 20 MPH zone.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:22 p.m., Trask Road/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Female, 43, of Mill City was arrested on an outstanding warrant and lodged at Linn County Jail.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:45 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Reported vehicle left area before deputies’ arrival.

Suspicious Circumstances, 11:03 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Male, 25, of Salem was arrested for disorderly conduct II and an Albany Municipal Court warrant for contempt of court. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.
