Mill City hosting National Night Out

Mill City will join communities across the U.S. in celebrating National Night Out on Aug. 1 with local festivities at Kimmell Park.

The event is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. and will feature free games, goodie bags, hot dogs, chips and water, Residents are encouraged to bring side dishes for a community potluck.

National Night Out is held annually nationwide to build relationships between local law enforcement and residents, and to foster community-centered policing. Mill City said on Facebook they hope to achieve these goals while “bringing back a true sense of community.”

The city has invited community groups to the event as well including the Santiam Canyon School District, Santiam Outreach Community Center, YoungLife and Santiam Hospital.
