In Memoriam: Ramona Rumplik (April 29, 1961 – May 14, 2023)

Ramona “Mona” Rumplik, 62, died May 14, 2023 in Stayton. 

Mona was born April 29, 1961, in Salem to Marianne Lee Harvey and Curtis Ray Keys. She attended Jefferson High, and later made her home in Lyons for 25 years. She spent the last five years in Gates.

As the owner and operator of Canyon Espresso in Gates, Mona was known for her warm smile and friendly demeanor.

In 2004, Mona received the gift of life in the form of a kidney transplant from her niece Ruthie. She was forever grateful for this second chance and never took a single day for granted.

A lover of nature and beauty, Mona eagerly awaited the arrival of spring each year, when she could plant her flowers and create her stunning hanging baskets

Mona is survived by her son, Robert (Cynthee) Rumplik; sisters, Renee Sizemore and Ruth Ann Keys; nieces, Rosa Carbaugh (Flores), Ruthie Flores, Amy Flores and Crystal Johnson (Flores); grandchild, Gaige Rumplik; step-grandchildren, Wyatt and Anna Hooper; nephew, Marlo Flores; four great-nieces; and four great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brothers, Raymond and Richard Keys.
