Red Cross Blood Drive

Santiam Jr./Sr. High is hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive Wednesday, May 3. The drive is from noon – 5 p.m. in the school gym, 300 SW Cedar St., Mill City. To sign up, visit redcross.org.

Donkey Basketball

A Logger Leadership fundraiser, Donkey Basketball features Scio High students and staff playing basketball on real donkeys. The fun starts at 7 p.m. April 24 at Scio High, 38880 NW Main St. Admission at the door is $10 for adults, $8 for students.

Stayton FFA Plant Sale

Stayton High FFA hosts its a Plant Sale 3 – 6 p.m. May 5 and 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. May 6 at the school’s green house, 757 W Locust St. 503-769-2171

Scio Plant & Bark Dust Sale

Scio FFA Alumni & Friends is now taking pre-orders for its annual Plant & Bark Dust Sale. The fir bark dust is $20 a yard, and can be picked up at Scio High, 38880 N Main St., on Saturday, May 6. During pick-up, visit the plant sale from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will be some bark dust available for purchase that day, but you are encouraged to pre-order. Visit to purchase.

Santiam Kinderfest

Connect with and learn about local resources and register your kindergartener for schools in the Santiam Canyon/East Marion County area. Hearing and vision screenings. Children’s activities. The event is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 22 at Santiam Center, 11656 SE Sublimity Road, Sublimity. Parentinghub.org

Future Eagle Night

Stayton High’s Future Eagle Night is set for 6:30 p.m. April 25 at the school, 757 W Locust St. Incoming freshman can learn about what activities are available. Meet athletic coaches and sign-up for sports and activities. 503-769-2171

Young Women’s Fire Camp

This year’s Linn County Young Women’s Fire Camp is set for July 8-9 at the Halsey Fire Department. Young women age 14 – 19 are invited to attend the free, two-day event taught by women firefighters. Learn what it takes to be a firefighter with hands-on opportunities. Any Oregon young woman can apply. Applications are due May 1, and are available at lebanonfire.org, halseyfire.com or on Facebook at facebook.com/LCYFA.
