Letter to the Editor: Scholarship banquet a success

Saturday, May 6, 2023, the annual Santiam High School Scholarship Committee – led by teacher Madeline Wilson and a large contingent of teachers, students, volunteers, businesses, parents and administrators – conducted a fundraiser at Stayton’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

This event takes place each year and is conducted to provide financial support for graduating Santiam seniors who desire to pursue post graduate education and training at junior colleges, universities and vocational institutions. This year there are 27 applicants who have applied.

Recognition to parents, volunteers and especially those educators who make this unpaid effort is amazing and a true reflection to their dedication for children!

Thank you! Congratulations!
