Vonda Lee Porter, 78, of Stayton died Jan. 14, 2023. She was born July 14, 1944, in Lead, S.D., and moved to the Willamette Valley at a young age.
She married Richard John Porter on March 19, 1960, and started a family, where she was a homemaker for many years.
She was a member of the Santiam Valley Grange of Lyons and the VFW Post 584 Auxiliary of Albany.
Vonda was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Richard Porter; parents, Glenn and Marjorie Watters; brother, Doug Watters; and great-granddaughter, Ava Porter.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Pauline Porter and Johnpaul and Tiffany Porter, all of Stayton; daughters and sons-in-law, Corrinne and Steve Poole of Lebanon, Colleen and Wayne Purvis of Salem and Christie and Tom Helman of Graham, Wash.; sisters, Glenna Blakley, and Connie Rowse; brothers, Greg, and George Watters; grandchildren, Nicole, Justin, Denise, Amanda, Stephanie, Christopher, J, Candace, Kyle, Kelsie, Meeresa, Jazen, and Emma; and great-grandchildren, Dillon, Kanoa, Kaia, Riley, Belle, Skylar, William, Caeleb, Lucas, Mason, Conner, Orrin, Sophia, Eli, Carter, Levi, Luka, Elijah, Alarick, and Jazen.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Jan. 28 at Santiam Valley Grange in Lyons. In lieu of flowers the family will be accepting donations at the door in her honor for her favorite charities/organizations: Santiam Valley Grange, VFW Post 584 Auxiliary, and Wounded Warrior Project.
