Sublimity man’s death remains unsolved

Authorities are seeking the public’s help in the unsolved death of a Sublimity man, with a reward being offered for information that leads to an arrest.

Richard Champion, 59, was reported missing to the Marion County Sheriff’s office in September of 2022 and his body was discovered that December near Millersburg.

No suspects have been arrested and additional details have not been released by authorities.

The sheriff’s office said they are treating the death as a homicide and are seeking any tips from the public that could help solve the case. Detectives would like to speak to anyone with any information regarding Champion.

A $2,500 reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers of Oregon for information leading to an arrest. Tips can be anonymous and can be left at crimestoppersoforegon.com or via the Crime Stoppers app.
