Oct. 22

Trespass, 5:28 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Male ran trespassers off and wanted to document the incident.

Park Patrol, 8:58 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:16 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies contacted vehicle in closed business parking lot.

Oct. 23

Traffic Stop, 4:22 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver cited for speed.

Theft, 9:58 a.m., River Drive/Stayton-Scio Road, Stayton. Deputy took report of stolen property from vehicle.

Repossessed Vehicle, 10:13 a.m., Gilkey Road, Scio. Dispatch was advised and vehicle noted.

Traffic Hazard, 10:19 a.m., Huntley Drive, Stayton. Contacted dog owner and advised her to keep her dogs out of the road.

Criminal Mischief, 11:04 a.m., Providence Drive, Scio. Deputies investigated damage to a property fence line.

Traffic Stop, 1:57 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

Hit and Run, 5:24 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputy responded and found it was civilly handled prior to his arrival.

Harassment, 7:41 p.m., Deford Street, Mill City. Caller reported someone may post an inappropriate photograph of them online.

Oct. 24

Criminal Mischief, 11:03 a.m., Quartzville and Straight Creek roads, Idanha. Deputy investigated a bushcraft dig-out shelter built using trees and plastic wrap. No current evidence as to who constructed the shelter.

Suspicious Circumstances, 2:55 p.m., Kingwood Avenue, Gates. Caller wanted to share concern about people going door to door in his rural neighborhood. He is concerned the people are engaging in a scam to cover for criminal activity. Documented in case other neighbors have similar problems.

Criminal Mischief, 3:29 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputy investigated a broken window from rocks.

Fraud, 4:25 p.m., Sixth Street, Lyons. Deputy took report.

Suspicious Circumstances, 8:29 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive/Highway 226, Scio. Report of suspicious vehicle. Deputies could not locate vehicle.

Suspicious Circumstances, 9:31 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Caller reported their spouse not letting them go to sleep. The situation was not criminal at the time.

Disturbance, 9:55 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies responded to disturbance and found it was not yet criminal.

Oct. 25

Burglary, 11:13 a.m., Mill City. Deputy responded to burglary where many firearms were stolen. Ongoing investigation.

Trespass, 2:28 p.m., Lulay Road, Scio. Male, 41, of Albany, was cited for Criminal Trespass II after being found locked behind a permit area gate.

Illegal Camping, 5:12 p.m., SE Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Male, 56, of Mill City, was issued two citations in lieu of custody on two separate warrants – Salem Municipal Court and Yamhill County Municipal Court.

Traffic Stop, 5:17 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputy warned driver for having a license plate cover.

Trespass, 7:34 p.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. Deputies responded to trespass call at John Neal Park and were unable to locate anyone trespassing.

Noise Disturbance, 9:31 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputy were unable to locate loud party.

Oct. 26

Suspicious Vehicle, 1:27 a.m., 13th Street, Lyons. Deputies contacted a suspicious vehicle in John Neal Park.

Theft, 1:39 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies responded to theft report at 7-11.

UUMV, 1:26 p.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Report of stolen motorcycle. 

Traffic Complaint, 2:09 p.m., Highway 226/N Main Street, Scio. Deputies responded.

Traffic Complaint, 6:47 p.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. Deputies responded and were unable to locate involved vehicles.

Shots Heard, 7:33 p.m., Rodgers Mountain Loop, Scio. Report of someone shooting a firearm. Information documented.

Suspicious Vehicle, 11:54 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Deputies contacted suspicious vehicle in closed park.

Oct. 27

Intoxicated Subject, 12:26 a.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Deputies responded to report of intoxicated individual and were unable to locate.

Disturbance, 12:34 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputies responded. No crimes reported.

Traffic Hazard, 2:50 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies found tree blocking the road and called ODOT to remove it.

Traffic Hazard, 4:23 a.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputies cleared tree and debris from vehicle which drove over said tree.

Hit and Run, 5:04 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputies responded.

Dog Complaint, 9 a.m., Birch Street, Lyons. Deputy spoke with dog owner about dogs being loose and learned their fencing was damaged during the overnight storm. The fence is being fixed.

Forest Timber Patrol, 9:23 a.m., Thomas Creek Drive, Scio.

Dog Complaint, 10:32 a.m., SW Elderberry Street, Scio. Two dogs attacked and killed a cat. Deputies attempting to locate dog owners.

Traffic Stop, 11:23 a.m., SW Broadway Street/S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for expired tags from 2021.

Traffic Stop, 11:50 a.m., SW Broadway Street/S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for expired tags from 7/2024.

Traffic Stop, 3:13 p.m., Sixth and Main streets, Lyons. Driver cited for expired tags from 2023 and driving with no operator’s license.

Traffic Stop, 3:42 p.m., Sixth and W Main streets, Lyons. Driver cited for expired tags from 2022.

Traffic Stop, 4:17 p.m., Sixth and Main streets, Lyons. Driver cited for expired tags from 2023.

Traffic Stop, 4:40 p.m., Sixth and Main streets, Lyons. Driver warned for expired tags and cited for failure to register vehicle.

Accident, 6:52 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Motor vehicle crash with minor injuries. Trailer left in road caused the crash.

Traffic Stop, 9:30 p.m., 14th and Dogwood streets, Lyons. Male, 39, of Mill City, was arrested on two warrants and cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failure to renew vehicle registration.
