May 10

Littering Violation, 11:34 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Deputies found a garbage pile on Upper Neal Creek Road. Ongoing investigation.

Missing Person, 12:15 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. 19-year-old male reported missing by a family member. Male was last seen at Shari’s in Salem.

Suspicious Person, 2:44 p.m., Ninth Street, Lyons. Male, 39, of Lyons, was cited in lieu of custody for failure to register as a sex offender.

Suspicious Person, 7:27 p.m., 13th Street, Lyons. People attempting to camp at county park that does not allow camping. They were informed and asked to leave.

Disturbance, 9:31 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputies responded to a report of a fight at Kimmel Park. Area was checked and nobody was found. No other caller’s or any possible victim information.

May 11

Counter Traffic, 10 a.m., SW First Avenue, Mill City. Victim of crime came to LCSO with additional evidence. Evidence was taken and added to the case.

Traffic Stop, 1:34 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to renew registration.

Traffic Stop, 1:45 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for failure to register vehicle.

Found Dog, 2:52 p.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Deputy returned wandering dog to its house.

Motorist Assist, 3:42 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputy helped push disabled vehicle off the road.

Burglary, 5:11 p.m., Larwood Drive, Scio.

Theft, 7:15 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputy responded to report that a customer did not pay for services rendered. Ongoing investigation.

OD Ingestion Poisoning, 8:41 p.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputies respond to overdose. Female was taken to hospital by family.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:38 p.m., Sandner Drive, Scio. Deputy contacted several vehicles parked in the middle of the road to see Northern Lights. Deputies asked them to pull all the way off the road.

May 12

Burglary, 11:50 a.m., Larwood Drive, Scio. Ongoing investigation.

Assist Other Agency, 3:09 p.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. Assisted medics for two suffering from heat exhaustion. 

May 13

Citizen Contact, 8:57 a.m., N First Avenue/NE Wall Street, Mill City. Deputies checked on male who was taking a nap.

Trespass, 9:41 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputies searched building for squatters. No squatters located.

Threats, 9:47 a.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Deputies investigated school threat call.

Juvenile Complaint, 11:26 a.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Deputy spoke to male regarding juveniles being out late and making noise.

Dog Bite, 2:15 p.m., Robinson Drive, Scio. Deputies served quarantine order for dog bite. Dog owner cited for failure to license dog.

Traffic Stop, 3:43 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Female, 30, was arrested for a warrant.

Suspicious Circumstances, 6:28 p.m., Cole School Road, Scio. Caller was concerned about a registered sex offender being around a minor child. Nothing in the male’s sex offender registration indicates he cannot be around minor children. No crimes were reported and information was documented. The same information was recently reported to DHS as well with the same findings.

Dog Complaint, 6:29 p.m., SW Second and SW Kingwood avenues, Mill City.

Suspicious Circumstances, 6:37 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Potential theft occurred in another jurisdiction. Caller was forwarded to correct jurisdiction.

Traffic Stop, 9:47 p.m., Third Street/Crabtree Drive, Scio. Driver warned for moving violation.

Dog Complaint, 10:58 p.m., Highway 226/Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Dog found on Highway 226 lodged for safekeeping at Linn County Animal Control.

Security Check, 11:09 p.m., Gates School Road, Gates. Deputy checked a building that had a light on and no one should have been there. No indications of criminal activity.

May 14

Elude, 12:54 a.m., Kingwood Avenue/Gates School Road, Gates. Deputy attempted a traffic stop on a male riding on an off-road-only style motorcycle on the road and the rider eluded the deputy.

Animal Complaint, 10:24 a.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputy conducted welfare check on horses and spoke to owner. No crimes.

Traffic Hazard, 11 a.m., S First Avenue/SE Juniper Street, Mill City. Deputy responded to traffic hazard of male laying in road.Man moved before deputy’s arrival.

Civil Dispute, 11:05 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputy responded to a civil dispute regarding poor work done on the caller’s vehicle.

Suspicious Circumstances, 1:48 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Depuy responded.

Hit and Run, 3:18 p.m., Richardson Gap Road/Larwood Drive, Scio. Deputy took report.

Trespass, 3:42 p.m., Rodgers Mountain Loop, Scio. Caller reported suspicious people at a vacant property.

Traffic Stop, 6:57 p.m., SE Third Avenue/SE Myrtle Street, Mill City. Male, 17, who just won a baseball game did a celebratory burnout in the school parking lot. Deput and male had a conversation about making good decisions and he was warned for the violations.

Traffic Stop, 8:04 p.m., Fifth and Main streets, Lyons. Driver cited or operating without driving privileges and driving uninsured.

Traffic Stop, 8:22 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Driver warned for expired tags.

Traffic Stop, 8:38 p.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 8:46 p.m., W Main Street, Lyons. Driver cited for driving without operating privileges.

Traffic Stop, 8:57 p.m., Elm and Fifth streets, Lyons. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Warrant, 9:08 p.m., 25th Street/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Female, 60, of Lyons, was cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and a warrant.

Traffic Stop, 9:23 p.m., NE Wall Street, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended.

Traffic Stop, 9:58 p.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Suspicious Vehicle, 10:48 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputy contacted male and female in store parking lot after hours.

Found Dog, 11:19 p.m., NE Third Avenue, Mill City. Deputy took a found dog to animal control after being unable to locate owner.

May 15

Suspicious Circumstances, 9:11 a.m., Ede Road, Scio. Deputies responded to littering call. No suspect information.

Suspicious Circumstances, 11:43 a.m., Birch Street, Lyons. Deputy contacted caller about suspicious circumstances. Nothing criminal found.

Civil Dispute, 11:47 a.m., Gates School Road, Gates. Civil issue over easement access.

Warrant, 2:54 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Female, 38, of Gates was arrested on MIll City and Marion County warrants.

Noise Disturbance, 4:02 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Deputy took report of noisy vehicle traveling on road, usually once a day.

Harassment, 6:24 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Juvenile was in altercation with mother. Information sent to juvenile department for review.
