Legal Matters: Aumsville man gets 28 months for DV incident

An Aumsville man arrested last year for alleged kidnapping has been sentenced to more than two years in prison after pleading guilty to lesser charges.

Steele James Davidson, 30, pleaded guilty Feb. 6 in Marion County Circuit Court to resisting arrest and two counts of first-degree burglary constituting domestic violence.

He was sentenced to 28 months in prison with eligibility for early release programs, and 36 months of post-prison supervision.

The plea deal helped Davidson avoid standing trial Feb. 26 for second-degree kidnapping, which carried a minimum sentence of 70 months in prison.
