In Memoriam: Mary Faith Kirsch (May 24, 1934 – Nov. 14, 2023)

Mary Kirsch passed away in Sublimity on Nov. 14, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 24, 1934, to Gregory and Maudeen (Archibald) Robl in Salem and grew up near Victor Point outside Sublimity.  

She attended St. Boniface Grade School and Stayton High School, where she met Dale Kirsch whom she married on Sept. 22, 1956. 

Mary and Dale owned and operated Kirsch True Value Hardware Store in Mill City  from 1972 to 2002. Mary was also an x-ray technician for 20 years with Salem Hospital. 

The couple raised 5 children and enjoyed 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. They lived for 12 years on a farm outside Stayton and 44 years in the Mill City/Gates area. 

Mary served her community through works including the Santiam Scholarship Committee.  

Her hobbies included her love for family and friends, gardening, and RV camping. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Dale, on June 2, 2018; 2 brothers, and 2  sisters. 

She is survived by her children: Bryan and Timothy (Theresa) Kirsch; Kimberly Butt, Cynthia Zosel and Gail Savarese; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and her brother Greg Robl.  

Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Jan. 20. Rosary begins at 9:15 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. A reception will follow.Serving the family, North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
