Suspicious Vehicle, 2:09 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Male sleeping in vehicle at the park. Deputy advised male of parked rules and was warned.

Suspicious Circumstances, 4:27 a.m., Meridian Road, Scio. Deputy investigated suspicious circumstances. Unable to locate anyone at the property. Homeowner advised he was not worried about anyone being out on his property.

Suspicious Person, 4:51 a.m., Farris Road/Hilltop Way, Scio. Deputies unable to locate.

Death Investigation, 9:38 a.m., W Scio Road, Scio. Person died of apparent natural causes.

Theft, 1:20 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Civil matter with landlord and tenant.

Event Detail, 6:11 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Attended City Council meeting.

Extra Patrol, 1:42 a.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. John Neal Park. Nothing suspicious found.

Welfare Check, 9:43 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Welfare check of elderly female.

Traffic Stop, 11:18 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for improper display.

Traffic Stop, 11:23 a.m., SW Second Avenue/SW Myrtle Street, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended violation, failure to carry proof of insurance and failure to register vehicle.

Suspicious Vehicle, 12:26 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive/Lulay Road, Scio. Caller reported suspicious people hanging around the Upper Neal Creek/Snow Peak area. Deputy contacted the couple and advised them of the 14-day camping rule and that they were close to outstaying their welcome.

Extra Patrol, 12:47 p.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Santiam Jr./Sr. High.

Extra Patrol, 1:56 p.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Santiam Elementary.

Motorist Assist, 3:18 p.m., Xmas Tree Road, Gates.

Park Patrol, 3:48 p.m., Larwood Drive, Scio. Larwood Park. A happy couple was out taking pictures of the river and the bridge. Nothing suspicious.

Park Patrol, 3:55 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Roaring River Park. No visitors. Park was quiet.

Extra Patrol, 4:45 p.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Extra patrol at the middle school wrestling meet.

Dec. 14

Welfare Check, 1:23 a.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Male having a mental health issue.

Traffic Complaint, 7:17 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons.

Extra Patrol, 9:26 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputies spent time in the school.

Warrant, 10:16 a.m., SW Ivy Street, Mill City. Male, 38, of Mill City was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody on a Mill City Municipal Court warrant.

Assist Other Agency, 10:38 a.m., E Gates Bridge, Gates. Assisted County Code Enforcement with citations.

Extra Patrol, 11:14 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputies spent time at Scio High.

Death Investigation, 11:22 a.m., SW Alder Street, Scio. Elderly disabled male was found deceased;appeared to be from natural causes.

Extra Patrol, 12:30 p.m., Larwood Drive, Scio. Nothing suspicious observed.

Extra Patrol, 12:32 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Nothing suspicious observed.

Disturbance, 2:35 p.m., 13th Street, Lyons. Deputies responded to a disturbance. No crimes were alleged.

Suspicious Person, 5:43 p.m., NW Fourth Avenue, Scio. Suspicious person contacted doing mechanic work on the side of the road. Nothing criminal.

Suicidal Subject, 9:32 p.m., Shimanek Bridge Drive, Scio. Juvenile upset about possibly being kicked off a team.

Accident, 9:54 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputy located vehicles that had backed into the ditch. Vehicle had already been removed; no damage.

Dec. 15

Suicidal Subject, 12:37 a.m., 25th Street, Lyons. Deputy reviewed information regarding a potentially suicidal subject and contacted a family member who indicated the subject was in another jurisdiction. Information passed on to that agency.

Traffic Stop, 7:09 a.m., NE Wall Street/N First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to stop at stop sign.

Traffic Stop, 7:22 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to obey traffic control device.

Forest Timber Patrol, 7:46 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Very few people located. All people seemed to be in compliance with BLM rules/regulations. No one located on Weyco.

Traffic Stop, 8:07 a.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to stop at stop sign.

Foot Patrol, 8:36 a.m., SE Sixth Avenue, Mill City. Deputies conducted foot patrol at Kimmel Park and made sure no one spent the night in gazebo.

Foot Patrol, 8:42 a.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Deputies conducted walk around of local school to heighten law enforcement presence.

Traffic Stop, 8:53 a.m., SW Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Male, 42, of Aumsville was arrested and lodged on charges of giving false information to police, failure to update annual sex offender registration and an outstanding warrant. He was also cited for driving while suspended violation, driving uninsured and failure to renew registration.

Harassment, 9:37 a.m., Ash Street, Lyons. Deputy provided information to a citizen regarding how to apply for a stalking order.

Noise Disturbance, 10:01 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Residents in Scio warned for many noise complaints and advised of new city ordinance prohibiting excessive noise.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle, 11:35 a.m., Meritt Road, Scio. A 1994 Jeep Cherokee, reported stolen to the Lebanon Police Department earlier in the day, was recovered. Suspects were identified and investigation is ongoing.

Suspicious Vehicle, 12:13 p.m., Oupor Drive, Scio. 

Civil Dispute, 12:16 p.m., Gray Pine Street, Lyons. Deputy responded.

Wanted Subject, 2:10 p.m., Oupor Drive, Scio. No public narrative.

Forest Timber Patrol, 3:44 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. One dispersed camper contacted. Individual knew BLM’s 14-day rules as well as how many days he could stay within a fiscal year.

Forest Timber Patrol, 3:48 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Located an old bough site. The site seemed older but deputy also noticed minor amounts of bear grass had been removed from the area.

Forest Timber Patrol, 3:52 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive/Tree Farm Road, Scio. No one located.

Trespass, 8:28 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City.

Domestic Disturbance, 9:51 p.m., W Scio Road, Scio. Incident documented.

Dec. 16

Theft, 10:31 a.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. A youth’s mountain bike was stolen. Ongoing investigation.

Suspicious Circumstance, 11:03 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Deputies conducted investigation into possible animal abuse.

Harassment, 3:55 p.m., 25th Street, Lyons. Deputies documented information regarding ongoing issue.

Suspicious Circumstances, 4:32 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputies investigate possible reckless endangering.

Traffic Stop, 6:12 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Driver warned for lighting violation.

Bike Traffic, 7:52 p.m., Main and 10th streets, Lyons. Operator warned for lighting violation.

Traffic Stop, 8:16 p.m., SW Linn Blvd./SW Eighth Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 9:34 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd./NW Seventh Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to maintain lane.

Traffic Stop, 9:51 p.m., SE Hazel Street/SE Second Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 10:02 p.m., SE Kingwood and SE Fifth avenues, Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Death Investigation, 10:05 p.m., Ninth Street, Lyons. Male, 88, of was found deceased. Death appeared to be from natural causes.

Dec. 17

Disturbance, 9:36 a.m., SW Second Avenue, Mill City. Deputies responded. Parties were separated. No one requested to press charges.

Suicidal Subject, 12:37 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies responded. Individual stated they were no loner suicidal. Individual’s family member responded to be with them.

Assist Other Agency, 12:42 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies flagged down by subject having medical issue. Deputies assisted until medics arrived.

Trespass, 12:57 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Party was asked to leave and did.

Traffic Stop, 1:42 p.m., Crabtree Drive/Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for expired registration.

Traffic Stop, 2 p.m., Queener Drive/Cole School Road, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

Dog Complaint, 2:18 p.m., SW Dogwood Street, Scio. Dog owner warned for dogs at large.

Threats, 3:01 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Gates. Deputies investigated possible firearm related crime in the woods.

Assist Other Agency, 4:30 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputies assisted OSP in attempting to locate suspect.

Suspicious Circumstances, 7:19 p.m., Ninth Street, Lyons. Deputies investigated. Non-criminal.

Motorist Assist, 7:48 p.m., Highway 226/Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Deputies contacted vehicle with hazards on parked alongside road who advised they did not need assistance.

Traffic Stop, 8 p.m., Highway 226/Lazy D Road, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

Extra Patrol, 9:01 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park. Nothing suspicious found.

Suspicious Circumstances, 9:20 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies spoke with male regarding a missing phone.

Traffic Stop, 10:23 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd./NE Alder Street, Mill City. Driver cited for 57 MPH in 40 MPH zone.

Traffic Stop, 10:48 p.m., S First Avenue/SE Juniper Street, Mill City. Driver cited for 44 MPH in 25 MPH zone.

Dec. 18

Traffic Stop, 2 a.m., S First Avenue/SE Ivy Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Warrant, 2:06 a.m., Se Ivy Street/SE Second Avenue, Mill City. Male, 31, of Mill City was arrested on outstanding warrants and transported to Marion County Jail.

Extra Patrol, 7:57 a.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Deputies performed traffic control and spoke with school staff at the elementary, middle and high schools.

Accident, 8:35 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Single-vehicle accident. Driver was transported for injuries and car was towed.

Theft, 9:44 a.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Theft of pop cans.

Extra Patrol, 4:06 p.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. John Neal Park. Suspicious Circumstances, 4:16 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputies attempted to contact a male on a bike. Male rode onto private property.
