In Memoriam: Ralph Slusser (July 19, 1941 – Oct. 25, 2023)

Ralph Quincy Slusser, 82, of Mehama passed away on Oct, 25, 2023, in Portland. He was born July 19, 1941, in Flint, Mich., to Frances and Arlene Slusser. 

Ralph grew up in Flint and Harrison, Mich., before moving to Oregon in 1987. He resided in Scio, Lapine and Aumsville before settling in Mehama. 

Ralph served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He earned an associate’s degree and worked as a custodian for the local courthouse and school district. 

Ralph married Ruth Ann Moughler on March 19, 1966 and together they raised three children. 

Ralph’s hobbies included his love for painting, drawing and singing. He loved spending time with his family. 

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, a sister and two grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Slusser; children: Adam (Angie) Slusser, Scott (Jennifer) Slusser and Tammy (Jeff) Dahl; brother, Al Slusser; sister, Sherry Lockery; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
