Traffic Stop, 6:38 a.m., S First Avenue/SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Extra Patrol, 9:36 a.m., SE Second Avenue, Scio. 

Traffic Stop, 10:14 a.m., Highway 226/Gilkey Road, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

Traffic Stop, 10:25 a.m., N Main Street/NW Second Avenue, Scio. Female, 45, of Albany was issued a criminal citation to appear at Albany Municipal Court related to a warrant for her arrest. She was cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license.

Traffic Complaint, 11:50 a.m., S First Avenue/SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputy was unable to reach alleged driver.

Oct. 18

Extra Patrol, 7:30 a.m., SE Willow Street/SE Evergreen Avenue, Idanha. 

Welfare Check, 9:31 a.m., NW Alder Street, Scio. Deputy conducted follow up for investigation.

Assist Other Agency, 11:33 a.m., NW Alder Street, Scio. Deputy assisted Child Welfare.

Extra Patrol, 3:22 p.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Extra presence during school release. Not a lot of traffic and no speeders.

Assist Other Agency, 4:03 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Located property owners where Marion County Sheriff’s Office has stopped forest products being harvested without a permit. Owners said they gave permission but didn’t know they needed to provide a permit.

Trespass, 4:18 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Deputy took request for extra patrol at turn around area off the roadway.

Mental Health, 6:12 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputy spoke with family about ongoing mental health issues with family member.

Suspicious Circumstances, 10:26 p.m., SW Spring Street, Mill City. Deputy was unable to locate suspicious light reported to be floating down the river.

Oct. 19

Traffic Stop, 1:19 a.m., SW Ivy and Deford streets, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Suspicious Circumstances, 9:12 a.m., Cedar Mill Road, Lyons. Deputy responded.

Civil Dispute, 11:21 a.m., N Ruby Loop, Scio. Deputy responded to a civil dispute over property.

Extra Patrol, 3:37 p.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Patrolled school area for elementary school release.

Trespass, 6:18 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Deputies responded. People were no longer there when deputies arrived.

Theft, 8:08 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Caller reported theft which occurred in another jurisdiction. Caller was directed to proper agency to make report.

Theft, 9:19 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Caller directed to another agency to report potential crime.

Traffic Stop, 9:37 p.m., Brock Drive, Scio. Driver warned for moving violation.

Extra Patrol, 10:12 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Suspicious Person, 11:01 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Male contacted walking on side of road. Nothing criminal.

Traffic Stop, 11:34 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for improper lighting.

Extra Patrol, 12:09 a.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. John Neal Park.

Bike Traffic, 6:47 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Rider warned for lighting violation.

Warrant, 8:07 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputies attempted to locate a wanted individual.

Traffic Stop, 8:36 a.m., S First Avenue/SE Ivy Street, Mill City. Male, 32, of Gates was issued a citation in lieu of custody on an outstanding warrant. He was also cited for driving while suspended and no ignition interlock device.

Juvenile Complaint, 11:56 a.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Deputies assisted school staff with a student.

Extra Patrol, 11:57 a.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Extra patrol at Santiam Elementary for conference day.

Dog Complaint, 12:30 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputy contacted caller on a dog complaint. Caller no longer wished to pursue the matter.

Traffic Stop, 1:32 p.m., Main and 18th streets, Lyons. Driver cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured, and illegal display of plates.

Warrant, 3:11 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Male, 59, of Mill City was arrested on an outstanding warrant and lodged at Linn County Jail.

Traffic Stop, 3:55 p.m., SW Second and SW Kingwood avenues, Mill City. Driver warned for no front plate.

Trespass, 4:47 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Report of possible trespass. Subject was actually a city employee on official business.

Welfare Check, 7:45 p.m., 11th Court, Lyons. Deputy checked on female who had reportedly been in a fight. Female was OK. Fight was verbal and parties separated. No crimes reported.

Violation of Order, 10:03 p.m., SW Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Investigation of violation of stalking order. Suspect was not located.

Traffic Hazard, 10:30 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputy assisted tow company loading vehicle that was blocking the road.

Oct. 21

Extra Patrol, 2:23 a.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Deputy patrolled problem area at request of local residents. All was quiet.

Suspicious Person, 4:09 a.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Suspicious person and vehicle checked on.

Forest Timber Patrol, 9:37 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio.

Park Patrol, 11:19 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Animal Complaint, 12:41 p.m., Franklin Butte Road, Scio. Dog owner warned for dog as a public nuisance.

Warrant, 1:23 p.m., SW 11th Avenue, Mill City. Subject, 31, of Mill City was cited in lieu of custody for two outstanding warrants.

Custodial Interference, 2:46 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputy spoke with caller regarding child custody issues.

Forest Timber Patrol, 3:16 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. 

Littering Violation, 3:17 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Deputy came across an abandoned camp site on BLM land. After inspecting the refuse, deputy was unable to determine the owner or any leads.

Trespass, 5:09 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Caller reported trespassers dressed as witches doing a photoshoot in the cemetery. Deputies were able to contact the group at a nearby residence and advised them they were trespassed from the property.

Accident, 8:33 p.m., Shimanek Bridge Drive, Scio. Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash with apparent minor injuries. Driver failed to negotiate a curve and left the road. Driver was transported to the hospital. No signs of impairment.

Domestic Disturbance, 8:56 p.m., SE Laurel Avenue, Mill City.

Juvenile Complaint, 11:18 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Deputy spoke with caller regarding juveniles being out past curfew and “ding-dong-ditching.”

Oct. 22

Noise Disturbance, 12:08 a.m., 10th and Ash streets, Lyons. Caller reported noisy teenagers playing in the area. Caller contacted parents and resolved the issue herself.

Mail Theft, 8:27 a.m., 18th Street, Lyons. Caller reported a check was stolen out of his mailbox and fraudulently cashed. Ongoing investigation.

Suspicious Vehicle, 8:36 a.m., Shimanek Bridge Drive/Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Vehicle was unoccupied.

Trespass, 10:31 a.m., Mt. Pleasant Drive, Scio. Caller reported ongoing issue with neighbor. Caller also requested extra patrol in the area.

Domestic Disturbance, 11:11 a.m., Ede Road, Scio. Deputies responded to verbal-only altercation between male and female. Deputies spoke with both parties and helped come to a resolution. 

Trespass, 11:52 a.m., Hess Road, Scio. Deputy responded to a report of possibly deceased people in a vehicle. The people were sleeping. Deputy warned the couple for trespass.

Animal Complaint, 12:24 p.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Deputy found a pig near the road. Owner was located and retrieved the pig.

Assault, 12:35 p.m., Gilkey Road, Scio. Deputies responded to an assault that is an ongoing civil issue between parents involved in a divorce. No criminal action was taken.

Traffic Stop, 1:28 p.m., N First Avenue/NE Wall Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Trespass, 1:41 p.m., Miller Cemetery Road, Scio. Report that people had trespassed on the property. Nothing was taken and caller only wanted it documented.

Traffic Stop, 2:13 p.m., SW Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failure to register vehicle.

Dog Complaint, 5;16 p.m., Birch Street, Lyons. Deputy provided information regarding barking dogs.

Custodial Interference, 7:18 p.m., SW 10th Avenue, Mill City. Deputy assisted with the return of a juvenile to their biological parent.

Oct. 23

Suspicious Circumstances, 2:36 a.m., Jefferson-Scio Drive, Scio. Caller thought a drone was chasing them on their property. No drone was seen flying upon arrival.

Extra Patrol, 2:12 p.m., NW River Road/NW Eighth Place, Mill City. Monitored traffic on River Road. No violations observed. Light dirt showing on road from construction traffic; nothing significant.

Harassment, 2:33 p.m., Fisher Street, Scio. Deputy responded to report of harassment.

Extra Patrol, 3:22 p.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Extra patrol during school release.

Illegal Camping, 4:09 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Deputies responded to report of a suspicious vehicle and possible illegal camping. Vehicle gone prior to deputiy’s arrival.

Phone Harassment, 9:23 p.m., SW Sixth Avenue, Scio. Person from Ohio sending repeated unwanted text messages to Scio resident. The resident was suggested to block the phone number.
