Aug. 21

Trespass, 9:13 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Deputies attempted to locate trespassers.

Suspicious Circumstances, 9:28 a.m., SE Evergreen Avenue, Idanha. Deputies received information regarding suspicious activity.

Extra Patrol, 10:06 a.m., NW Second Avenue, Mill City.

Theft, 11:40 a.m., SE Willow Street, Idanha. Deputies investigate a stolen trailer that was recovered.

Theft, 11:41 a.m., Goar Road, Scio. Deputies investigated theft of sign.

Extra Patrol, 12:54 p.m., NW Second Avenue, Mill City. Deputies conduct patrols and registration checks on vehicles.

Extra Patrol, 2:33 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Extra patrols at local businesses. 

Criminal Mischief, 6:10 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Vehicle’s front passenger window was busted out. Nothing stolen from vehicle.

Assist Other Agency, 8:12 p.m., W Central Avenue, Gates. Deputies assisted Marion County Sheriff’s Office on a disturbance. Non-criminal.

Dog Complaint, 9:08 p.m., River Loop Road, Lyons. Deputies responded but did not hear any dogs barking.

Citizen Contact, 10 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputies spoke with two people regarding a previous incident. 

Extra Patrol, 10:22 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Suspicious Vehicle, 11:13 p.m., SE Second Avenue/SE Grove Street, Mill City. Male, 61, of Stayton cited in lieu of custody on an outstanding warrant.

Warrant, 12:11 a.m., NE Seventh Avenue/NE Alder Street, Mill City. Male, 48, of Mill City cited in lieu of custody on an outstanding warrant.

Prowler, 1:35 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies responded to a suspicious male who tried opening a home’s front door. Male did not gain entry. Deputies responded and were unable to locate.

Aug. 22

Shots Heard, 7:39 a.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Caller reported a single gunshot. Deputy was in area and heard nothing. Nothing found.

Illegal Camping, 2:22 p.m., NE Seventh Avenue/NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputy checked on illegal camp. No one was there; just a black pitbull tied to an anchor. Dog was friendly.

Traffic Hazard, 2:43 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive/AK Lane, Lyons. Dodge van parked partially in road and appeared to be broken down. No one located with van, and it was registered out of state. Towed as a hazard.

Littering Violation, 4:41 p.m., Highway 226/Freeman Road, Scio. Trash dumped on state property referred to appropriate agency.

Counter Traffic, 4:43 p.m., Oupor Drive, Scio. Suspicious circumstances documented.

Traffic Stop, 5:01 p.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for failure to carry proof of insurance and driving while suspended.

Traffic Stop, 5:26 p.m., Highway 226, Lyons. Driver warned for failure to maintain lane.

Traffic Stop, 5:42 p.m., Main and 12th streets, Lyons. Driver warned for failure to renew vehicle registration.

Traffic Stop, 5:50 p.m., Main and Sixth streets, Lyons. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 6:09 p.m., 16th and Main streets, Lyons. Cited for no insurance.

Animal Complaint, 6:27 p.m., Rodgers Mountain Loop, Scio. Caller reported neighbor’s horses were loose. Deputy contacted horse owner who is checking fences to assure the horses don’t get out again.

Traffic Stop, 7:14 p.m., Sixth and Front streets, Lyons. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 7:30 p.m., S First Avenue/SE Grove Street, Mill City. Driver cited for 38 MPH in 20 MPH zone and driving uninsured.

Traffic Stop, 9:21 p.m., S First and SE Kingwood avenues, Mill City. Driver warned for moving violation.

Traffic Stop, 9:34 p.m., S First Avenue/SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Extra Patrol, 9:41 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Extra Patrol, 10:01 p.m., 14th Street, Lyons.

Traffic Stop, 10:52 p.m., NW Seventh Avenue/NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Subject, 34, of Salem was arrested on three outstanding warrants and transported to Marion County Jail.

Aug. 23

Extra Patrol, 12:45 a.m., Providence Drive, Scio. Checked locked out and vacant properties.

Traffic Stop, 2:17 a.m., NE Alder Street/NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended and no ignition interlock device.

Traffic Stop, 2:57 a.m., N First Avenue/NE Wall Street, Mill City. Driver warned for moving violation.

Traffic Stop, 8:29 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 3:08 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for no lights on trailer.

Traffic Complaint, 4:01 p.m., NW River Road/NW Eighth Place, Mill City. Complaint of speeders coming into the 25 MPH zone. 

Aug. 24

Trespass, 1:32 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Caller reported cameras went off and suspected someone was on their property.

Juvenile Complaint, 7:54 a.m., SW Fifth Avenue/SW Alder Street, Scio. Report of two juveniles riding electric bicycles unsafely, without helmets, through Scio during the afternoons. Information documented and extra patrols will be conducted.

Harassment, 9:26 a.m., NE Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Deputies responded to a reported harassment involving negative posts on Facebook. No crimes reported. Caller only waned documentation.

Traffic Hazard, 11:38 a.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Deputy removed large amount of glass from road.

Traffic Stop, 11:59 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputy stopped vehicle with a misread plate number. Canceled stop right after contacting driver.

Traffic Stop, 12:06 p.m., SW Fifth Avenue/SW Douglas Street, Mill City. Driver warned for un-signaled turn. 

Extra Patrol, 12:13 p.m., SW Fifth Avenue, Scio.

Suspicious Person, 12:34 p.m., SW Fourth Avenue/SW Alder Street, Scio. Female, 45, of Scio was arrested during the course of a traffic stop for multiple warrants from Albany Municipal Court and Lebanon Municipal Court. She was also issued citations for driving while suspended and driving without insurance.

Traffic Stop, 12:35 p.m., SW Broadway Street/S First Avenue, Mill City. Drier cited for using a cell phone while driving.

Traffic Stop, 12:50 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for speed and window tinting.

Traffic Stop, 12:57 p.m., SW Linn Blvd./SW Eighth Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 1:04 p.m., NW Wall Street/NE Santiam Pointe Loop, Mill City. Driver was warned for rolling through a stop sign and dark window tint.

Citizen Contact, 1:35 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. People waved down a deputy to report a speeding vehicle.

Criminal Mischief, 2:08 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Caller was concerned about people loitering near her front yard the previous evening.

Traffic Stop, 2:35 p.m., NW Alder Street/NW Fifth Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for failure to register vehicle.

Traffic Stop, 3:03 p.m., NE Alder Street/NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for failure to renew registration.

Traffic Stop, 3:11 p.m., SE Kingwood and S First avenues, Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Traffic Stop, 3:35 p.m., SE Kingwood and SE Second avenues, Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Traffic Stop, 3:36 p.m., NE Wall Street, Mill City. Driver warned for moving violation.

Traffic Stop, 3:42 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd./NE Third Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for un-signaled turn.

Traffic Stop, 4:14 p.m., Deford Street, Mill City. Driver issued a citation for driving while suspended violation, driving uninsured and failure to register vehicle.

Security Check, 5:09 p.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Bar check at Trio Tavern. OLCC was there checking in on things.

Domestic Disturbance, 7:19 p.m., Gilkey Road, Scio. Female, 44, was arrested for harassment. She was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Burglary, 9:01 p.m., Birch Street, Lyons. Deputies responded to a residential burglary. Ongoing investigation.

Aug. 25

Warrant, 7:42 a.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Male, 23, of Lyons was arrested on 15 warrants and other crimes.

Traffic Stop, 11:47 a.m., Queener Drive/Kingston-Jordan Road, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

Trespass, 12:44 p.m., Ironwood Street, Lyons. Suspicious vehicle left area prior to deputy’s arrival.

Traffic Stop, 1:59 p.m., NE Wall Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Fraud, 2:02 p.m., Locust Street, Lyons. Attempted fraud reported by caller documented.

UUMV, 4:19 p.m., 16th Street, Lyons. Caller reported his Subaru was stolen. 

Trespass, 4:20 p.m., SE Church Street, Idanha. People left prior to deputy’s arrival. 

Accident, 7:44 p.m., Gates School Road/Kingwood Avenue, Gates. Male, 36, of Keizer arrested for failure to perform duties of a driver when property is damaged, reckless driving, DUII, contempt of court.

Suspicious Circumstances, 8:57 p.m., Providence Drive, Scio. Deputy responded to a foreclosed property due to previous tenants at location trying to collect their medical supplies and some clothing. They were advised for any future needs to contact the Sheriff’s Office first.
