July 8

Found Dog, 12:38 a.m., Robinson Drive, Scio. Found dog near residence. Owner contact attempted without success. Dog ran from deputy.

Prowler, 3:36 a.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputies searched area after prowler call. Deputies contacted female who was walking her dog. No crimes reported.

Theft, 8:18 a.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputy took report of stolen vehicle. Ongoing investigation.

Theft, 6:39 p.m., NW Beech Street, Scio. Deputies investigating theft of 2020 KTM 300XC motorcycle. Loss of $8,000. Investigation ongoing. 

Trespass, 7:01 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies responded to a trespass. Family issue. Person trespassing was told they were not allowed on the property and left.

Minor-in-Possession, 8:01 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Deputies referred two juveniles to Juvenile Department for minor in possession.

Harassment, 9:21 p.m., SE Mountain Avenue, Idanha. Caller wanted to complain about poor experience with local campsite. 

Traffic Stop, 11:04 p.m., SW Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Male, 43, of Stayton was issued citations in lieu of custody for Linn County and Marion County warrants along with a citation for driving while suspended violation and driving uninsured.

July 9

Animal Complaint, 8:54 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Deputies attempted to locate little piglets in the ditch. Piglets left prior to deputies’ arrival.

Traffic Stop, 9:50 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver cited for driving uninsured and warned for failure to display plates and failure to register vehicle

Dog Complaint, 11:13 a.m., Larwood Drive/Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputies searched area for loose dog.

Traffic Complaint, 5:34 p.m., Shimanek Bridge Drive, Scio. Report of reckless driver.

Traffic Hazard, 11:21 p.m., Shilling Drive/Miller Cemetery Road, Scio. Report of cows on the road. Unable to locate.

July 10

Suspicious Vehicle, 2:14 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Subject, 24, of Salem was arrested for a Clackamas County warrant. Subject was also issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody on a Lincoln County warrant, and cited for driving while suspended violation and driving uninsured.

Traffic Stop, 4:47 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for equipment and moving violations.

Trespass, 9:46 a.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Male cut two locks valued at $20 each in the process of trespassing. Nothing known to be missing.

Suspicious Circumstances, 1:13 p.m., Highway 226/SE Ash Street, Scio. Deputies were unable to locate the wandering person.

Theft, 1:56 p.m., Gates School Road, Gates. Someone broke a window on a church van and stole items from vehicle.

Neighborhood Dispute, 2:13 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Black dog has been running free and not contained to property. Dog owner warned for dog at large.

Warrant, 3:56 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Male, 44, of Salem was arrested on outstanding Parole Board warrants and taken to Linn County Jail.

Counter Traffic, 4:03 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Caller concerned over roommate’s drug use.

Traffic Complaint, 6:13 p.m., Crabtree Drive/Cold Springs Road, Scio. Deputy checked area and sent out extra patrol request to other deputies.

Misuse of 911 System, 8 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputies spoke with intoxicated male regarding his observations.

July 11

Accident, 7:28 a.m., W Scio Road/Jefferson-Scio Drive, Scio. Male, 33, of Turner was cited and released for driving while suspended misdemeanor.

Abandoned Vehicle, 8:05 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputies gave property owner with private property tow form.

Accident, 11:50 a.m., NW River Road/NW Seventh Place, Mill City. Two-vehicle, non-injury crash.

Security Check, 4:15 p.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Bar check at Trio Tavern. The regulars were there. No issues.

Found Property, 4:21 p.m., SW Sixth Avenue, Scio. Keys were placed in evidence.

Accident, 4:32 p.m., Fish Hatchery and Lombardy drives, Scio. Single-vehicle, non-injury crash. Driver lost control of vehicle after hitting a gravel patch.

Runaway, 8:47 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputy responded to a report of a runaway.

July 12

Mental Health, 8:03 a.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Female knocked on a door and said she was trying to find the fire station so she could contact a deputy who was looking for her. She appeared to be having mental health issues. Left on her own.

Disturbance, 8:26 a.m., SW Swift Avenue, Mill City. Deputy spoke to female regarding a male keeping property at her house.

Traffic Stop, 10:59 a.m., SW Linn Blvd./SW Eighth Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for 60 MPH in 40 MPH zone and driving uninsured.

Traffic Stop, 11:46 a.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for 42 MPH in 25 MPH zone.

Animal Complaint, 12:28 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputy responded to make sure goats were contained and being cared for. No crimes or violations at the time.

Traffic Stop, 12:49 p.m., SE Kinwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for 45 MPH in 25 MPH zone.

Trespass, 3:26 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputies spoke with male regarding landlord tenant laws.

Civil Dispute, 5:55 p.m., SW Ivy Street, Mill City. Civil issue between roommates and eviction process.

Traffic Stop, 7:10 p.m., Richardson Gap Road/Rodgers Mountain Loop, Scio. Driver warned for equipment violation.

July 13

Suspicious Vehicle, 2:04 a.m., N First Avenue/NE Wall Street, Mill City. Suspicious motorcycles found parked without any riders. Nothing criminal.

Traffic Stop, 6:29 a.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Driver warned for moving violation.

Welfare Check, 8:43 a.m., Highway 22, Idanha. Attempted welfare check on family. Checked area, campgrounds, unable to locate.

Warrant, 12:25 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Gates. Female, 27, of Mill City cited in lieu of custody for an outstanding warrant.

Assault, 2:19 p.m., W Main Street, Lyons. Male, 31, of Mill City cited in lieu of custody for harassment.

Runaway, 3:59 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputies located a runaway juvenile and assisted in returning the juvenile to parents.

Trespass, 6:10 p.m., NE Alder Street, Mill City. Caller reported a male trespassing on their guest house back porch. Caller asked male to leave without incident. Description given for possible identification.

Suspicious Circumstance, 11:04 p.m., Remine Road, Mill City. Deputy unable to locate suspicious scream heard by caller.

July 14

Traffic Stop, 12:05 a.m., Highway 22, Mill City. Driver cited for driving uninsured.

Traffic Stop, 3:34 a.m., Kingwood Avenue/SW Ivy Street, Mill City. Driver warned for emitting white light to rear of vehicle.

Traffic Hazard, 3:54 a.m., Highway 226, Lyons. Deputy moved deceased deer from road.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:24 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Male told to move along.

Assist Other Agency, 1:16 p.m., 24th and Main streets, Lyons. Patient left the scene.

Traffic Stop, 1:56 p.m., Gates School Road, Gates. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Motorist Assist, 3:28 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Caller was running the Gambler 500, trespassed up Snow Peak on Wey Co. property, and got stuck behind locked gates. Found an open gate and got out before deputies arrived.

Threats, 3:47 p.m., Ninth Street, Lyons. Caller contacted office to have statements made by another person documented.

Animal Complaint, 6:22 p.m., Oupor and Fish Hatchery drives, Scio. Caller reported five calves in the road. Deputy checked area and did not locate.

Juvenile Complaint, 7:07 p.m., SE Sixth Avenue/SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputies spoke with individual regarding juveniles causing issues in neighborhood.

Suspicious Circumstances, 7:30 p.m., SW Ivy Street, Mill City. Deputies responded to a complaint of noise and attempted to locate the origination to no avail.

Juvenile Complaint, 8:55 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputies spoke with juveniles and parents regarding issue involving a misunderstanding.

Noise Disturbance, 10:02 p.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Responded to noise complaint; no noise in the area.

July 15

Traffic Stop, 1:25 a.m., Fifth Street/Dogwood Street, Lyons. Driver warned for failure to maintain lanes.

Warrant, 8:51 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Male, 32, of Lyons was cited for a warrant.

Warrant, 9:19 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Male, 38, of Lyons was cited for a warrant. Male, 43, of Lyons was arrested and taken to jail.

Disorderly Conduct, 9:36 a.m., Highway 22, Idanha. Caller reported campers throwing knives, starting fires and being belligerent in a dispersed camp off Highway 22. When deputies arrived, the campers had packed and left the area.

Theft, 9:48 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Stolen motorcycle.

Traffic Stop, 10:39 a.m., Rodgers Drive/S Ruby Loop, Scio. Driver cited for failure to register vehicle.

Traffic Stop, 11 a.m., Rodgers Drive/S Ruby Loop, Scio. Driver cited for failure to register vehicle.

Animal Complaint, 11:33 a.m., Providence Drive, Scio. Deputy made contact with owner of several goats. One of his goats got caught in a fence in a remote area of the property and died. Owner was warned about the crime associated with this.

Traffic Stop, 11:57 a.m., Rodgers Drive/S Ruby Loop, Scio. Driver warned for improper display of plates on a trailer.

Traffic Stop, 12:01 p.m., SE Grove Street/S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for failure to renew vehicle registration.

Traffic Stop, 12:58 p.m., Main and 10th streets, Lyons. Driver cited for driving uninsured.

Traffic Stop, 2:23 p.m., SW Fifth Avenue/SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Male, 38, of Mill City was arrested for driving while suspended misdemeanor.
