June 19

Extra Patrol, 3:17 a.m., N McCully Mountain Road, Lyons. Deputies check an area known for the disposal of stolen vehicles. Nothing suspicious seen.

Extra Patrol, 4:20 a.m., Hess Road, Scio. Deputies contacted a male who was educated on the park rules of overnight stays.

Trespass, 8:30 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Landowner requested several people be kicked off his property. Deputies informed the owner of the eviction process. Owner alleged a theft occurred where $63,000 was stolen. Ongoing investigation.

Traffic Stop, 8:31 a.m., SW Second Avenue, Scio. Driver cited for driving uninsured and driving while suspended.

Traffic Hazard, 2:06 p.m., SW Ivy Street, Mill City. Deputies checked on a vehicle that was partially blocking the road. Owner moved vehicle.

Suspicious Vehicle, 3:37 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Trailer is parked on private property. Unknown if Post Office approved.

Accident, 3:51 p.m., SE Fourth Avenue/SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Crash where 10 feet of fencing was damaged. Driver cited for failure to drive within lane.

Sex Offender Registration, 4:51 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Male, 42, of Scio reported a residence to Oregon Sex Offender Registration database. Contact was made with the homeowner to confirm the listed male maintains his own room in the residence, has a full-time job and does part-time work on the side. Male was not home at time of check.

Trespass, 5:06 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. No one was trespassing. Tenant rights were explained.

Emergency Message, 6:36 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Assisted Medical Examiner’s Office with a message.

June 20

Suspicious Vehicle, 10:14 a.m., Jefferson-Scio Road, Scio. Operator of a vehicle parked on the side of the road was asked to leave.

Found Property, 1:27 p.m., NE Wall Street, Mill City. Deputies recovered an unsecured, blue Schwinn bicycle that was left behind a private business. Bike was lodged at Linn County P&E Annex in Albany.

Threats, 3:05 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Deputies responded to a threats/criminal mischief call. Victim did not wish to pursue charges.

Harassment, 5:54 p.m., SE Second Avenue, Mill City. Caller wanted an ex-family member trespassed from his property. Message was delivered.

June 21

Suspicious Circumstances, 1:32 a.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputy responded to a suspicious vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was tired and pulled off the road to take a short nap.

Disturbance, 8:55 a.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Disturbance between family members. No crimes reported.

Warrant, 10:01 a.m., NE Wall Street/N First Avenue, Mill City. Male, 46, of Mill City was arrested and booked at Linn County Jail for an outstanding warrant.

Parking Complaint, 10:29 a.m., Main Street, Lyons.

Warrant, 12:42 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Female, 29, of Mill City was arrested and booked at Linn County Jail for an outstanding warrant.

Suspicious Vehicle, 12:45 p.m., Sandner Drive/Kingston-Jordan Road, Scio. Two individuals were asked to move along.

Suspicious Vehicle, 12:59 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Deputies responded to a traffic hazard and suspicious vehicle. Individuals were attempting to leave the area but their vehicles were continually breaking down.

Traffic Hazard, 3:57 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies responded to a traffic hazard and suspicious vehicle. Individuals were attempting to leave the area but their vehicles were continually breaking down.

Suspicious Vehicle, 6:49 p.m., Shimanek Bridge Drive, Scio. Vehicle was gone prior to deputy’s arrival.

Juvenile Complaint, 7:35 p.m., Shimanek Bridge Drive, Scio. Deputies spoke to a troubled juvenile.

Park Patrol, 11:31 p.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. John Neal Park.

June 22

Elude, 9:22 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputies investigated an eluding vehicle from a traffic stop and stolen vehicle.

Burglary, 9:57 a.m., 14th Street, Lyons. Deputies investigated theft and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.

Theft, 10:25 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputies investigated an eluding vehicle from a traffic stop and stolen vehicle.

Theft, 11:21 a.m., SE Hazel Street, Lyons. Deputies spoke with a person regarding ongoing issue of being concerned about a known criminal possibly in the area. No evidence individual was actually at residence.

Trespass, 1:18 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Deputies responded to possible trespass and observed individuals playing in the creek away from the reporting parties’ property.

Suspicious Vehicle, 2:27 p.m., 24th Street/Apple Loop, Lyons. Deputies advised individuals to move along.

Extra Patrol, 3:14 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Proactive patrols in Mill City. Deputies checked vehicle registrations in Mill City to locate and prevent crimes.

Found Dog, 6:22 p.m., Shindler Bridge Drive, Scio. Caller was able to find the dog owner and return the dog.

Intoxicated Subject, 8:59 p.m., Rock Creek Road/Kingwood Avenue, Gates. Male was asked to move along.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:45 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Vehicle to be unoccupied with no one around it.

Park Patrol, 10:15 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Person asked to move along during night hours at Kimmel Park.

June 23

Park Patrol, 12:01 a.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. John Neal Park.

Suspicious Person, 9:53 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputies contacted a male in the park who was yelling. The male was upset but there did not appear to be any crimes committed.

DUII, 10:26 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputies checked on a potential DUI on a semi-truck. Deputies contacted the operator who did not appear intoxicated.

Traffic Stop, 1:04 p.m., S First Avenue/SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Hazard, 2:15 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road/Stayton-Scio Loop, Scio. Deputies responded to a vehicle parked close to the road.

Warrant, 2:37 p.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputies investigated an eluding vehicle from a traffic stop and stolen vehicle.

Suspicious Vehicle, 6:47 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputy spoke to male about prohibited parking and male agreed he would move.

Minor-in-Possession, 10:03 p.m., Gates School and Monument Peak roads, Gates. 

Disorderly Conduct, 10:42 p.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. Male, 19, and male, 30, were arrested for disorderly conduct.

Shots Heard, 11:50 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive/Ede Road, Scio. Deputy was unable to locate where the gunshots were coming from.

June 24

Possible DUII, 12:18 a.m., Front and Sixth streets, Lyons. Deputy checked the area for presumed intoxicated driver and were unable to locate.

Traffic Complaint, 10:08 a.m., 13th and Dogwood streets, Lyons. Deputy performed extra patrol request for speeding cars.

Dog Complaint, 11:06 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Dog owner warned to keep dog leashed when not on private property.

Suspicious Circumstances, 11:49 a.m., S First Avenue/SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Deputy assisted family with retrieving their grandmother suffering from dementia who was walking away from her home.

Theft, 2:16 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Male, 54, of Lyons was arrested for an Albany Municipal Court warrant along with the crimes of giving false information to a peace officer in connection with a citation or warrant, theft in the third degree, menacing and resisting arrest. He was transported to Linn County Jail.

Fireworks Complaint, 4:12 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive/Kingwood Avenue, Mill City.

Fireworks Complaint, 5:58 p.m., SW Sixth Avenue, Mill City. Deputy performed extra patrol due to fireworks complaint.

MISSING PERSON, 8:01 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Report of an elderly female who wandered from home. Deputy was able to find her and her family took her home.

Fireworks Complaint, 11:18 p.m., NE Alder Street/NE Third Avenue, Mill City.

June 25

Theft, 8:18 a.m., Miller Road, Scio. Report of stolen battery from agriculture sprinkler. Victim requested extra patrol.

Trespass, 10:41 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Deputy attempted to locate and identify a male who the owner of a business would like trespassed. Owner will attempt to find security footage to identify the male.

Noise Disturbance, 2:10 p.m., Cedar Mill Road/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputy responded. Subjects were advised to stop making noises and leave the area.

Dog Bite, 4 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Dog owner issued a citation for dog as a public nuisance.

Fireworks Complaint, 9 p.m., NE Alder Street, Mill City. Caller was worried about the fire danger mortar fireworks pose. 

Trespass, 10:18 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Responded to a trespassing call. Male agreed to not enter property again.

Traffic Stop, 11:27 p.m., N Main Street, Lyons. Driver warned for displaying expired registration tags.

June 26

Burglary, 1 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Report of a burglary of miscellaneous jewelry and $1,100 cash. Ongoing investigation.

Assist Other Agency, 2:29 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Assisted Linn County Code Enforcement with property visit regarding occupied RVs.

Traffic Complaint, 2:46 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Complaint of speeders. Extra patrol requested.

DUII, 5:32 p.m., Kingston-Lyons Drive, Stayton. Male, 66, of Lyons was arrested for DUII.
