Memorial Day

Memorial Day Service – 9:30 a.m., Calvary Cemetery, 1015 N Main St., Mt. Angel. Patriotic music by Marion County Citizens Band. All veterans welcome to join in the Veterans’ March and Presentation of Colors. Celebration of Mass. POW/MIA remembrance. Reading the names of the fallen. Placement of memorial wreath. Three volley salute. Sounding of taps. Bring your own lawn chairs. In case of inclement weather, the service will take place at St. Mary Church, Mt. Angel. Hosted by Mt. Angel American Legion Post 89.

Farm Dog Invitational – 4 – 6 p.m., Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm, 33814 S Meridian Road, Woodburn. Cheer on dogs and their owners as they walk through seven farm station including Greet the Farmer, Jump on a Hay Bale and Meet the Goats. Hosted by Oregon Agricultural Education Foundation. Event closes with the announcement of the 2023 Oregon Farm Dog of the Year. “Tailgate” buffet available. Wine purchases from Wooden Shoe Winery benefit OAEF. Tickets, $25, at woodenshoetulipfarm.com. Ticket price includes one ticket to the buffet.
