Recovery plan session set for Saturday

A public workshop on the Santiam Canyon wildfire recovery plan will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 25, at the Gates Fire Hall.

On the agenda is a discussion of the draft recovery framework for the Canyon as well as opportunities for public input on future actions for the wildfire recovery effort.

On hand will be the Marion County Board of Commissioners, city councilors from Gates and Detroit and representatives of partner organizations such as the Oregon Department of Emergency Management, the Santiam Canyon Long Term Recovery Group,the Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments and Santiam Hospital’s Service Integration Team.

The draft framework was developed by environmental planning, economic development and engineering consultants. Timelines and next steps will be part of the discussion, Marion County officials said.
