March 14

Park Patrol, 12:42 a.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. John Neal Park.

Extra Patrol, 2:02 a.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Extra patrol at a county park after dark.

Traffic Stop, 3:20 a.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended.

Suspicious Circumstance, 9:48 a.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Caller reported his mother was acting weird. He could not give further information as to what “weird” meant. Deputy responded and spoke with the mother. She appeared clean, well taken care of, and was reading the newspaper. She said she just did not want to speak with her adult son who is still living in the house. She said she was good, just needed some alone time.

Threats, noon, SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Information about parents being upset with the music teacher’s behavior. The school is handling the situation administratively and the music teacher is no longer in the area. Caller wanted it reported in the event the information is needed.

Extra Patrol, 12:44 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio.

Dog Complaint, 1:02 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Transported stray dog to Animal Control.

Trespass, 1:05 p.m., Hess Road, Scio. Report that a vehicle was along the river west of the day use area, and that there should be no vehicle access. Deputy was unable to locate the vehicle or access point described.

Civil Dispute, 3:02 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Ongoing civil issue between three parties.

Suspicious Vehicle, 6:05 p.m., Crackerneck Drive/Kelly Road, Scio. Deputy unable to locate.

Foot Patrol, 6:59 p.m., Hess Road, Scio.

Warrant, 7:34 p.m., Highway 226/Shimanek Bridge Drive, Scio. Male, 51, of Lebanon was cited and released on outstanding warrants after being contacted illegally camping.

March 15

Park Patrol, 1:58 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Traffic Complaint, 8:01 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Traffic complaint on a vehicle headed out of Lyons. Deputies stopped vehicle and learned the driver, 45, of Albany was driving while suspended – misdemeanor. Male was cited in lieu of custody for the aforementioned crime.

Out with a Vehicle, 11:21 a.m., Trask Road/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Vehicle was found blocking a private timber gate. Person asked to move along.

Suspicious Vehicle, 11:29 a.m., Cedar Mill Road, Lyons. No one located in or near the vehicle.

Traffic Hazard, 1:29 p.m., Ede Road/Providence Drive, Scio. Deputy investigated a traffic hazard.

Extra Patrol, 4:23 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City.

Traffic Stop, 4:50 p.m., S First Avenue/SW Ivy Street, Mill City. Driver warned for expired registration.

Traffic Stop, 5:04 p.m., SW Evergreen Street/S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended – violation.

Mental Health, 5:10 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Caller had cut themself shaving, minor abrasion. Caller was transported to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Civil Dispute, 6:13 p.m., Hawthorne Street, Scio. Deputy spoke with a caller about a civil dispute.

Dog Complaint, 9:40 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Deputy responded did not locate any dogs.

March 16

Suspicious Circumstance, 2:06 a.m., SW Fourth Avenue/SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Deputy responded and patrolled area. Nothing suspicious located.

Narcotics Offense, 7:26 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Caller found a substantial amount of narcotics. Deputies seized the drugs, which were lodged at Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

Forest Timber Patrol, 9:30 a.m., Monument Peak Road, Gates. 

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:39 a.m., Highway 226/Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Driver cited for driving while suspended – violation.

Narcotics Offense, 10:20 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Caller reported possible drug users at park.

Criminal Mischief, 10:54 a.m., SW Spring Street, Mill City. Deputy responded to a report of punctured tires on a vehicle. Ongoing investigation.

Suspicious Vehicle, 7:50 p.m., Jefferson-Scio Drive, Scio. Deputy contacted a male with a disabled vehicle near the West Scio Market.

Trespass, 11:33 p.m., NW Clayton Place, Scio. Deputies responded; determined no crime occurred.

Suspicious Vehicle, 12:01 a.m., NW Fourth Avenue, Scio. Deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle.

Extra Patrol, 3:05 a.m., Highway 226, Scio,

Dog Complaint, 9:07 a.m., 14th Street, Lyons. Deputy transported a stray dog to Animal Control.

Neighborhood Dispute, 11:25 a.m., Rodgers Drive, Scio. Subject was gone before deputy’s arrival.

Park Patrol, 1:23 p.m., Hess Road, Scio. Air patrol of the river looking for scuttled boats.

Park Patrol, 1:30 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road. Male living in a tent under Stayton Bridge was warned for illegal camping.

Park Patrol, 9:06 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Traffic Stop, 10:33 p.m., NE Seventh Avenue/NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for failure to carry proof of insurance.

Security Check, 11:19 p.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Security check at Santiam Elementary.

March 18

Noise Disturbance, 12:15 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Noise stopped prior to deputy’s arrival.

Security Check, 1:16 a.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Security check of open building. Nothing found.

Park Patrol, 2:47 a.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. John Neal Park.

Traffic Stop, 5:06 a.m., Highway 226/Franklin Butte Road, Scio. Driver warned for failure to signal for turn.

Shots Heard, 2:55 p.m., Fishermans Road, Lyons. Parties were contacted and informed of the liability of shooting.

Suspicious Circumstance, 4:40 p.m., Shoreline Drive, Lyons. Caller thought they may have seen someone illegally harvesting an animal but it could not be determined with the information given.

Accident, 6:14 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Non-injury, two-vehicle crash. Male turned left when it was not clear to do so and crashed into a Dodge 2500. Damages more than $2,500.

March 19

Suspicious Person, 3:43 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive/Tree Farm Road, Scio. Deputy checked the area and was unable to locate.

Suspicious Vehicle, 7:03 p.m., Cedar Mill Road/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Unable to locate.

Welfare Check, 8:55 p.m., SW Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Possible trespass. No signs of anyone trespassing.

Suspicious Vehicle, 10:08 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Deputy unable to locate any of the described vehicles.

March 20

Suspicious Vehicle, 10:12 a.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. Vehicle left before deputies arrived.

Extra Patrol, 10:43 a.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Deputies greet middle/high school students at lunch.

Traffic Stop, 11:03 a.m., North Santiam Highway, Gates. Driver cited for driving while suspended and failure to carry insurance.

Traffic Stop, 11:05 a.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Warned for speed.

Trespass, 12:08 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Store owners reported cars and a motorhome parked in the store lot that are not customers. Owners were contacted and cars were moved. Motorhome owner was not there.

Park Patrol, 1:17 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Kimmel Park.

Suspicious Circumstance, 2:38 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputies help someone suffering mental health issue get back home.

Suspicious Vehicle, 3:15 p.m., SW Ivy Street, Mill City. Contacted owner of motorhome in a previous call who stated she just got the motor running and will be moving the motorhome.

Traffic Stop, 4 p.m., S First Avenue/SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Driver warned for moving violation.

Traffic Stop, 4:25 p.m., SW Broadway Street/SW Fifth Avenue, Mill City. Subject, 18, of Lyons was cited for criminal trespass II as well as failure to register vehicle.
