Local special districts will have open board positions during the May 16 Primary Election, and the deadline to apply as a candidate and appear on the ballot is March 16.
Open school district positions include:
Santiam Canyon (positions 1, 3 and 4).
Scio School District (positions 1 and 4).
Open fire district positions include:
Gates RFPD (positions 1, 4 and 5).
Idanha-Detroit Rural Fire Protection District (positions 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5).
Lyons RFPD (positions 1, 4 and 5).
Mill City RFPD (positions 1, 2, 3 and 5).
Scio RFPD (positions 3 and 4).
Lyons-Mehama Water District has positions 1 and 3 open.
