YBGT scholarship, grant applications

The Youth Benefit Golf Tournament is supporting young people in the Santiam Canyon through its annual scholarship and grant programs. Santiam Canyon high school seniors are encouraged to begin preparing their applications for scholarships ranging between $500 and $2,500.

Eligible applicants include graduating seniors from Regis, Stayton and Santiam high schools as well as students who reside in the Canyon and are home schooled or attend Oregon Connections Academy.

Scholarships are awarded based on participation in school service activities, community service, leadership and academic achievement. Affiliation or interest in golf is not necessary. Funds can be used to offset expenses at two- or four-year colleges and universities or accredited trade or professional schools.

In addition, local organizations are invited to apply for grants from $150 to $3,000 to support youth programs in the Santiam Canyon such as outdoor schools, music, theater and art programs, youth leadership training programs, sports programs, and community-wide events for children. These programs can be year-round activities or one-time events.

Applications are available online at ybgolf.com, and are due no later than March 1, 2023. For more information contact Beverly Thacker at [email protected].
