Citizen Review Board needs volunteers

Volunteers are needed to serve on the Citizen Review Board (CRB) of the Oregon Judicial Department, according to CRB Field Manager Lené Garrett.

CRB reviews cases of children in Oregon’s foster care programs. Key goals are ensuring permanency and safety for children, accountability, system improvement, and providing a citizen voice and involvement.

CRB meets one day per month to conduct case reviews, make findings and recommendations for each case. Volunteers bring an independent, diverse and common-sense perspective to foster care cases and advocate for improvements in the foster care system.

To become a member of a CRB, individuals must complete an application, pass a criminal history check, participate in an interview, and complete training.
