Oct. 18

Suspicious Circumstance, 12:10 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Open door. Deputy checked building and secured door.

Suspicious Vehicle, 1:33 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Deputy located a vehicle in an area closed after dusk at Hannah Bridge. Person moved without incident.

Extra Patrol, 3:31 a.m., SE Sixth Avenue, Mill City. Extra patrol at Kimmel Park. No persons or vehicles in the park.

Extra Patrol, 8:55 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Deputies take extra patrol request for possible higher crime area.

Narcotics Offense, 10:56 a.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. Deputies responded to juvenile in possession of marijuana at school. Marijuana was seized and information referred to juvenile department.

Assist Other Agency, 2:15 p.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Deputies assisted allied agency with information regarding a suspect location.

Suspicious Circumstance, 5:17 p.m., Larwood Drive, Scio. Caller wanted to know if she could file charges against a property owner because her name was mentioned in an eviction hearing. She was told no, there are no legal grounds for her claim.

Oct. 19

Traffic Complaint, 11:58 a.m., NE Ash Street, Scio. Complaint of speeders.

Juvenile Complaint, 12:05 p.m., NW Beech Street, Scio. Educated a juvenile about criminal laws.

Hit and Run, 3 p.m., Dogwood Road, Mill City. Company did not want to pay. Caller was advised to call their insurance company.

Civil Dispute, 3:24 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Deputy made phone contact with caller who wanted his belongings back from girlfriend. Deputy referred him to civil court.

Suspicious Circumstance, 7:06 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputy responded to a suspicious circumstance involving a verbal dispute between a male and female.

Welfare Check, 8:31 p.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Everyone was OK.

Suspicious Circumstance, 9:36 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Male was OK.

Oct. 20

Extra Patrol, 7:26 a.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Speed enforcement.

Disturbance, 8:30 a.m., NE Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Disturbance where no crimes were committed.

Forest Timber Patrol, 9:06 a.m., Larwood Drive, Scio. Patrolled BLM property. Area security check at Anderson Mine. Located one illegal camp.

Traffic Stop, 9:23 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for no license plates.

Suspicious Circumstance, 9:47 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Neighbor reported suspicious activity.

Missing Person, 10:45 a.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Individual was located.

Illegal Camping, 11:21 a.m., Larwood Drive, Scio. Deputies discussed a timeline for illegal camper to move on and reminded him to keep the campsite clean.

Suspicious Circumstance, 12:17 p.m., SE Evergreen Avenue, Idanha. Deputy spoke with caller about their concerns with a suspicious property.

Suspicious Circumstance, 12:59 p.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. Juvenile with a vape pen at school.

Threats, 2:16 p.m., Robinson Drive, Scio. Old tenant causing problems.

Suspicious Circumstance, 5:28 p.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Drone complaint.

Animal Complaint, 7:04 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road/Ridge Drive, Scio. Caller reported a deer hit by a car. Deputy checked area and found the deer deceased.

Oct. 21

Stolen Vehicle, 8:59 a.m., SW Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Report of a stolen vehicle. Ongoing investigation.

Criminal Mischief, 1:56 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Property vandalized. Ongoing investigation.

Prowler, 2:25 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Deputies attempted to locate possible prowler.

Oct. 22

Traffic Stop, 1:57 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Deputy stopped potential DUII driver. It was determined no alcoholic beverages were consumed. 

Suspicious Vehicle, 4:59 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Driver warned for speed.

Suspicious Vehicle, 3:27 p.m., Gates School and Monument Peak roads, Gates. Deputy talked with a hunter who told him he had not seen any vehicles matching the given description. Multiple vehicles in the area. No signs of a dumped hot tub.

Assist Other Agency, 4:44 p.m., Highway 226/Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Deputy came upon a rollover motor vehicle crash. Medics and OSP arrived and took over the scene. 

Traffic Stop, 6:47 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

Forest Timber Patrol, 7:19 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive/Lulay Road, Scio. Avery put notice at gate that states the gate will be open 1 hour before sunrise and closed 1 hour after sunset. All people stated the gates were locked shortly after the sun had set.

Accident, 8:36 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Owner of vehicle failed to tow the vehicle and left the scene while vehicle was leaking hazardous fluids. Deputy towed vehicle.

Oct. 23

Suspicious Vehicle, 11:06 a.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Suspicious vehicle located on private property.

Neighborhood Dispute, 12:36 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Helped mediate a property line dispute between neighbors.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle, 6:44 p.m., Monument Peak and Gates School roads, Gates.

Suspicious Person, 7:16 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road/Mertz Drive, Scio. Person gone on arrival.

Oct. 24

Suspicious Circumstance, 9:14 a.m., Myers Place, Scio. Male, 28, of Scio cited on warrants.

Fraud, 12:56 p.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Caller had several questions about possible fraud involving her mother-in-law. Deputy suggested checking credit reports.

Extra Patrol, 2:31 p.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Extra patrol in front of Mari-Linn School.

Trespass, 4:58 p.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Vehicle blocking Weyerhaeuser gate was moved.

Criminal Mischief, 5:51 p.m., SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Caller reported someone had carved into the paint on their vehicle’s door causing an unknown amount of damage. Ongoing investigation.
