Oct. 4

Traffic Stop, 10:04 a.m., Highway 22, Mill City. Driver warned for obstructed plate.

Suspicious Circumstance, 10:17 a.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and released the driver with a warning. The passenger left scene prior to end of stop, was determined to have warrants. Deputies searched for the male.

Suspicious Circumstance, 5:44 p.m., Richardson Gap Road/Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Report of possible trespassers the previous night on a property that isn’t the caller’s. Unknown if they had permission to be there or not.

UEMV, 6:25 p.m., N Main Street, Scio. Deputy took a report of damage to a vehicle parked on the street in Scio and a theft from inside the vehicle. Value $1,700 in vandalism charges and $10 theft from inside the vehicle.

UEMV, 8:39 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Theft of a firearm at the Red Barn. Suspect broke the window to a truck and stole a firearm. Incident on video.

Oct. 5

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:18 a.m., SW Cedar Street, Mill City. City reported an abandoned trailer in the alley. Deputy checked property lines and the trailer is on the property of the person who left it there.

Traffic Stop, 9:50 a.m., SE Cedar Street/Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for failure to maintain lane.

Dog Complaint, 10:36 a.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Two pitbulls seen running at large in front of a residence. Owner was not home. The babysitter secured the dogs.

Dog Complaint, 10:40 a.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Dog owner cited for dog at large/trespassing.

Traffic Stop, 10:45 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Driver cited for 60 MPH in 40 MPH zone.

Animal Complaint, 11:51 a.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Deputy conducted a welfare check on an old horse. The owner is aware and is making arrangements to have the horse put down.

Traffic Stop, 12:30 p.m., SE Fairview/S First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for expired tags.

Dog Complaint, 12:52 p.m., SW Third Avenue/SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Dog owner cited for dog at large.

Lost Property, 4:29 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Caller reported lost cell phone along Highway 226.

Oct. 6

Theft, 9:49 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Theft of gas.

Theft, 1:04 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Chainsaw and a full gas can stolen from the back of a pickup truck at a residence. Total value $775.

Trespass, 1:09 p.m., Trask Road, Lyons. Weyerhaeuser called to report a transient camp at the US30 gate. Deputy checked the area and the van was gone. The site was left clean.

Dog Complaint, 2:31 p.m., Bull Drive, Lyons. Dog owner cited for dog as a public nuisance.

Traffic Stop, 4:23 p.m., Ridge Drive/Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Cited for failure to renew vehicle registration.

Warrant, 8:04 p.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Male, 40, of Lyons was arrested on multiple warrants for his arrest. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Oct. 7

Animal Complaint, 2:05 p.m., Providence Drive/Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Sheep in the road.

Dog Complaint, 4:46 p.m., Richardson Gap Road, Scio. Report a dog attacked the caller’s sheep.

Oct. 8

Out with a Vehicle, 3:20 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputy discovered an occupied vehicle at Kimmel Park after hours. Deputy advised out-of-state visitor he will need to find somewhere else to sleep in the future.

Warrant, 6:40 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Mill City male issued citation for unlawful use of a vehicle and failure to appear on a criminal citation.

Oct. 9

Suspicious Vehicle, 12:41 a.m., Hess Road, Scio. Illegal camping. Deputy educated campers about the rules.

Littering Violation, 12:51 p.m., Mt. Pleasant/Kingston-Lyons drives, Scio. Deputies investigated dumping of trash in the county.

Traffic Stop, 8:04 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Driver warned for 45 MPH in 35 MPH zone.

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:02 p.m., S First Avenue/SW Evergreen Street, Mill City. Suspicious vehicle on school property. Vehicle was unoccupied.

Traffic Stop, 10:59 p.m., Kingston-Lyons Drive. Driver warned for failure to maintain lane. Driver had two large dogs fighting in the rear seat of his vehicle.
