Sept. 27

Shoplift, 9:08 a.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Male, 27, of Mill City was arrested on four outstanding warrants out of Linn County and Salem Municipal Court. He was transported to Linn County Jail.

Rape, 9:39 a.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputy investigating sexual assault allegations. 

Suspicious Circumstance, 11:41 a.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Citizen wanted to pass on suspicious activity to law enforcement.

Accident, 4:31 p.m., Stayton-Scio and Kingston-Jordan roads, Stayton. Non-injury motor vehicle crash.

Accident, 4:52 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Gates. Non-injury motor vehicle crash.

Theft, 6:18 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Generator stolen from a barn.

DUII, 9:01 p.m., Cold Springs Road/Highway 226, Lebanon. Male, 18, of Scio was arrested for DUII.

Burglary, 9:18 p.m., NE Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Deputy investigating theft of two marijuana bongs from the caller’s home, valued at approx. $110. Ongoing investigation.

Suspicious Circumstance, 10:55 p.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Deputy responded to a report of someone screaming outside the caller’s house. Deputy checked the area and was unable to locate anyone screaming or appearing to be in distress.

Sept. 28

Theft, 9:25 a.m., SE Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Caller reports checks were stolen.

Hit and Run, 2:18 p.m., SE Grove Street, Mill City. Deputy investigated a hit and run to a fence. Damage estimated at $2,000.

Suspicious Circumstance, 3:22 p.m., NW Beech Street/NW Fourth Avenue, Scio. Suspicious object was a bottle of apple juice.

Domestic Disturbance, 6:08 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Deputies documented a situation between ex-domestic partners and advised on how to file for a restraining order.

Sept. 29

Suspicious Vehicle, 6:18 a.m., Kingwood Avenue. Vehicle was left unattended and secured.

Dog Complaint, 10:53 a.m., Jefferson-Scio Drive/Miller Cemetery Road, Scio. Deputy checked area for stray dog but did not locate it.

Dog Complaint, 11:18 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputy transported stray dog to Animal Control.

Illegal Camping, 11:58 a.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Campers were packing up and leaving upon deputies’ arrival.

Theft, 12:15 p.m., NW Santiam Blvd., Mill City. Caller reported theft of beer. Value $20.

Animal Complaint, 5:52 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Deputy herded a dog off the road onto its property. Owner was warned about potential consequences.

Threats, 10:28 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Deputies checked the property and spoke to the caller who had been receiving messages from their ex.

Sept. 30

Animal Complaint, 8:50 a.m., Franklin Butte Road, Scio. Pigs at large. Owner retrieved pigs before deputies’ arrival. Owner warned for livestock at large.

Animal Complaint, 9:44 a.m., SE Hazel Street, Mill City. Deputy spoke to caller about an animal complaint.

Dog Complaint, 11:17 a.m., SW Broadway Street/SW Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Dog owner cited for dog at large.

Suspicious Vehicle, 3:44 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road/Shelburn Drive, Scio. Stranded vehicle towed by owners.

Trespass, 10:47 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Camper parked on property. Camper left prior to deputies’ arrival.

Oct. 1

Traffic Stop, 10:19 a.m., Fish Hatchery Drive/Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for speed.

Suspicious Circumstance, 10:55 a.m., Cedar Mill Road, Lyons. Individual found dead animal skeletons.

Burglary, 6:09 p.m., SE Birch Street, Scio. Caller reported more than $12,000 worth of items stolen from a residence. Ongoing investigation.

Missing Person, 8:19 p.m., Miller Cemetery Road, Scio. Caller was worried about her overdue husband, whom she had no way of contacting. Deputies were able to reach the caller’s husband by phone and he advised he was fine and would be home soon.

Fraud, 8:33 p.m., 14th Street, Lyons. Female wanted to report a fraud.

Accident, 9:42 p.m., Kingston-Jordan Road, Scio. Deputy responded to a non-reportable crash. The operator of the vehicle told deputies he swerved to avoid a deer and got stuck in a ditch. There were no injuries or property damage.

Stolen Vehicle, 11:18 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Deputy investigated a report of a stolen vehicle, during which the suspect caused damage to the vehicle in excess of $1,000. Ongoing investigation.

Oct. 2

Warrant, 12:33 a.m., NW River Road, Mill City. Male, 37, of Mill City was cited and released for a warrant for failure to appear out of Mill City Municipal Court.

Found Dog. 10:18 a.m., SW Sixth Avenue, Scio. Found dog lodged at Animal Control.

Traffic Complaint, 10:57 a.m., Rodgers Drive, Scio. Report of a group of kids riding quads on the roadway.

Dog Complaint, 4:57 p.m., NE Fourth Avenue, Mill City. Loose dog.

Traffic Stop, 6:01 p.m., Jordan Road/Highway 226, Scio. Driver cited for 80 MPH in 55 MPH zone.

Oct. 3

Traffic Complaint, 8:11 a.m., Richardson Gap and Franklin Butte roads, Scio. Deputies searched for a dangerous driver.

Theft, 9:06 a.m., Ironwood Street, Lyons. Theft of gas, damages to a van.

Traffic Stop, 9:59 a.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Driver warned for no plates.

Traffic Hazard, 1:32 p.m., Shelburn and Shilling drives, Scio. Deputies searched for cows in the road but they mooooooved along.

Suspicious Circumstance, 1:59 p.m., Scio. Report of a large bonfire on Weyerhaeuser property. Deputy unable to locate.

Person Assist, 3:01 p.m., Highway 226/Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Responded to Avery property for a log truck driver locked behind the F line gate. Log truck was gone upon arrival.

Rescue, 4:36 p.m., Pamelia Road, Idanha. Linn County Search and Rescue responded to an injured hiker at the Pamelia Lake trailhead. Adult female slipped while hiking, injuring her ankle. Two hikers carried her to meet the search and rescue members. Female transported to local hospital by the two other hikers.
