No burning allowed in the Mill City RFPD

The Department of Forestry declared a Level 2 last week due to the dry, hot weather, and if the weather does not change more restrictions could come.

Field Burning Complaints?

It is time again for farmers to burn their fields. Local fire departments have no control over this issue and remind everyone to call the Department of Ag at 503-986-4709 or DEQ at 503-378-8240 to make comments or complaints.

Residents experiencing health problems aggravated by smoke should keep doors and windows shut when smoke is visible. This helps keep the smoke in a home to a minimum. The worst time of the day for the smoke accumulation is the late afternoon and evening. If things get too bad, take a drive to get out of the smoke.
