June 20

Traffic Hazard, 2:23 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Cows in the roadway.

Trespass, 2:38 p.m., Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Report of an unwelcome male on the property.

Menacing, 5:06 p.m., Jordan Road/Highway 226, Scio. Caller reported a local property owner was menacing them, accusing them of trespassing. There was no trespass and caller just wanted the property owner talked to

Harassment, 6:08 p.m., SW Filbert Street, Scio. Caller had questions regarding videos on social media. Deputy contacted caller and answered questions.

Elder Abuse, 6:31 p.m., Elm Street, Lyons. Caller requested information regarding fraud.

June 21

Suspicious Person, 2:39 a.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Deputies responded to a suspicious person call. Incident was documented in case this continues to happen in the future.

Harassment, 8:47 a.m., S McCully Mountain Road, Lyons. Deputy spoke with caller in regards to telephonic harassment.

Dog Complaint, 10:07 p.m., Miller Cemetery Road, Scio. Deputy spoke with dog owner regarding a nuisance barking complaint.

Neighborhood Dispute, 4:59 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Complainant’s neighbor is mowing her lawn without her permission. Deputy spoke with the neighbor and he agreed to stop and thought he was helping.

Traffic Complaint, 5:35 p.m., Gates School Road, Gates. Deputy responded to a driving complaint from Highway 22. Driver about his driving.

Stolen Vehicle, 7:50 p.m., Stayton-Scio Road, Scio. Deputy investigated report of a stolen vehicle.

June 22

Animal Complaint, 10:05 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputy responded to an animal neglect call. Call was unfounded. Dog owner warned for failure to license dogs.

Suspicious Vehicle, 11:04 a.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Suspicious vehicle that had the appearance of a stolen vehicle. Deputy was unable to contact owner and caller was advised of the private property tow process.

Dog Complaint, 11:19 a.m., Main Street, Lyons. Transported stray dog from Lyons Fire Department to Animal Control.

Burglary, 6:09 p.m., Ridge Drive, Scio. Forced entry into a residence with $1,961 worth of items stolen.

Suspicious Circumstance, 7:40 p.m., Crabtree Drive, Scio. Civil matter between ex’s involving a vehicle.

Disturbance, 9:41 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Civil issue over use of roadway and parking by the farmer and his workers. Caller will make contact with property owner to resolve the issues.

June 23

Suspicious Person, 2:10 a.m., SW Linn Place, Mill City. Deputies located three individuals and learned they were locked out of the house.

Disturbance, 3:08 a.m., Neal Park Road, Lyons. Verbal-only disturbance at John Neal Park.

Dog Complaint, 1:01 p.m., SW Spring Street, Mill City. Dog owner issued citation for dog as a public nuisance.

Trespass, 1:02 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Deputies spoke with parties regarding trespassing and not parking on each other’s property.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle, 4:09 p.m., Kingwood Avenue/Fairview Street, Mill City. Recovered stolen vehicle from Marion County.

Animal Complaint, 9:07 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Owner was advised and he will take care of the sheep.

June 24

Warrant, 1:58 a.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Female, 30, and female, 53, both of Mill City cited in lieu of custody for two outstanding warrants each. 

Suspicious Circumstance, 3:11 a.m., Jefferson-Scio Drive, Scio. Citizen educated on burn regulations and warned for illegal burning.

Forest Timber Patrol, 9:01 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Report of recent trespass issues on the E-3. Deputy to install a camera in the area.

Traffic Stop, 10:33 a.m., Gilkey Road/Highway 226, Scio. Driver transporting vehicle to finish rebuild. Vehicle didn’t have plates but paperwork was in order.

Hit and Run, 11:10 a.m., W Main Street, Lyons. Caller witnessed a Swift Transport tractor trailer hit a yellow bollard and tear it out of the ground. Driver, 38, of Madera, Calif., was located and cited to appear in court for Hit and Run property damage. Trailer was towed by the owner due to the damage.

Accident, 11:50 a.m., Stayton-Scio Road/Brock Drive, Scio. Non-injury crash. Vehicle was gone prior to deputy’s arrival. No property damage.

Traffic Stop, 12:24 p.m., Highway 226/Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Driver cited for 77 MPH in 55 MPH zone.

Shots Heard, 12:45 p.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Caller reported illegal shooting of firearms and fireworks from a neighboring property. Nothing appeared to be illegal, just loud, and the caller doesn’t like the noise.

Civil Dispute, 1:11 p.m., SW 11th Avenue, Mill City. Civil issue over a vehicle. Nothing criminal.

Trespass, 1:43 p.m., Thomas Creek Drive, Scio. Road was previously tank trapped but vehicles have made a path round. Avery Timber was advised of the issues. Camera was set in the area.

Assault, 4:43 p.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Deputies responded to the report of an assault. Under investigation.

Suspicious Person, 11:34 p.m., Front Street, Lyons. Male of Mill City arrested for multiple warrants.

June 25

Disturbance, 4:41 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Illegal parking drivers told to move.

Illegal Camping, 5:28 p.m., Blowout Road, Idanha. Caller had a reservation in the campground and found people in his site. Camp host worked out the issue.

Accident, 10:14 p.m., Rock Creek Road/Kingwood Avenue, Gates. Single-vehicle crash down embankment. Driver transported to Salem Hospital via LifeFlight for apparent serious injuries.

Traffic Hazard, 10:19 p.m., Cedar Mill Road/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Citizen reported horses in the road. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the animals.

June 26

Traffic Stop, 1:32 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for operating a trailer without any working lights.

Animal Complaint, 10:21 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Caller reported an injured deer.

Traffic Stop, 11:08 a.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended violation.

Traffic Stop, 11:17 a.m., SW Eighth Avenue/SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 12:01 p.m., SW Linn Place, Mill City. Driver cited for driving while suspended violation and driving uninsured. He was also cited in lieu of custody for a warrant.

Traffic Stop, 12:57 p.m., SW Eighth Street/SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 1:13 p.m., Rio Vista Lane/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Mill City. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Traffic Stop, 1:48 p.m., SW Fourth Avenue/SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Driver cited for no insurance.

Traffic Stop, 3:14 p.m., Rashmar Road/Highway 226, Lyons. Driver warned for equipment violation.

Assist Other Agency, 5:38 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Numerous vehicles parked at the Lyons Fire Department’s pump site. Vehicle owners were contacted and vehicles were removed. OSP were requested to handle the illegal parking on state highway.

Forest Timber Patrol, 8 p.m., Xmas Tree Road, Gates. Followed up on a motor vehicle crash from previous night. Family and friends were pulling vehicle from down in the trees to tow it away.

June 27

Theft, 12:46 p.m., Dogwood Road, Mill City. Theft of a sewer pump.

Accident, 1:26 p.m., Kingwood Avenue/Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputies responded to an abandoned vehicle that turned out to be a non-injury crash.

Theft, 4:05 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Theft of two gold rings with a sum value of $3,000 from a residence. Ongoing investigation.

Elude, 4:12 p.m., Kingwood Avenue/Fairview Street, Mill City. Deputies attempted a traffic stop in Mill City for speeding and failure to yield. Vehicle fled and deputies discontinued pursuit.

Trespass, 4:30 p.m., Jordan Road, Scio. Caller had questions about trespassers on waterways.

Threats, 8:43 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Threatening messages over the phone. Deputies provided restraining order paperwork and advised the other party to have no contact.
