DLRABA meets for more event planning

The Detroit Lake Recreational Area Business Association (DLRABA) meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14 to finalize its 4th of July weekend events.

The meeting will be hosted by Lee Layman at 215 Patton Road in Detroit. Interested parties can join in virtually by using the video call link https://meet.google.com/eiv-urgy-mua or by calling 1-802-676-0206 and using the pin number 983-511-766#. 

The Fireworks over the Lake events are shaping up as follows:

Friday, July 1: 3 p.m. beer garden opening, barbecue and music by the Gabriel Cox Band and a 5 p.m. fundraiser for future events and city beautification.

Saturday, July 2: Morning pancake feed fundraiser for the Idanha-Detroit Rural Fire Protection District, early evening kickball tournament and golf cart parade and 6:30 to 9 p.m. beer garden, music by the Edge Band.

Volunteers still are needed and can sign up by emailing [email protected].

Association officials also will discuss this year’s fishing derby and brainstorm the future of the program.
