Commissioners OK fire dispatch contracts

The Linn County Board of Commissioners approved new contracts between the Linn County Sheriff’s Office – which will provide dispatch services – and area fire agencies on June 1.

Commissioners Roger Nyquist and Sherrie Sprenger were present in the board room and Commissioner Will Tucker participated by telephone.

New contracts are: Albany Fire, $267,293; Brownsville Fire, $18,123; Halsey-Shedd Fire, $18,165; Harrisburg Fire, $21,577; Lebanon Fire, $173,595; $Scio Rural Fire, 20,942; Sweet Home Fire, $81,002; and Tangent Rural Fire, $18,420.

In other business, the commissioners:

The commissioners also approved a contract shift for retired deputy Craig Vogt, who is from full-time to 20-hours per week to assist the Sheriff’s Office during the busy summer months.

Approved a contract with the city of Scio to provide Justice Court services.
