Members needed for Scio advisory committee

There are currently vacant positions on the Scio Parks & Tree Advisory Committee.

The committee was established on Nov. 8, 2021, and serves as advisors to the Scio City Council in all matters pertaining to the development and preservation standards for street trees and landscaping requirements associated with development inside the Scio city limits.

The committee consists of no less than three and no more than five committee members, two of which may reside within the Scio Zip Code boundaries. The remaining members must reside inside the Scio city limits. Committee members are appointed by the mayor with consensus from the Scio City Council.

The committee meets every other month, but additional meetings may be scheduled.

Individuals wishing to serve on the committee will be required to fill out an Advisory Committee Application, available on the city’s website at ci.scio.or.us.
