In Memoriam: Dan Stokes   (April 12, 1962 – Feb. 10, 2022)

Dan Stokes, 59, of Mill City died Feb. 10, 2022. He was born April 12,1952, in Berkeley, Calif., to Ralph and Helen (Dinwiddie) Stokes, and grew up in Concord, Calif. 

Dan finished his bachelor’s degree and became a self-employed contractor, owner/operator of Stokes Home Repair, and had retired prior to his passing. He built his dream home on the Santiam River. 

He married Brenda Gydesen on July 7, 2001. Dan was involved with the Eagles of Mill City. His hobbies included his love for the game of Corn Hole, RC cars, woodworking, home improvements and fixing things, and his love for his three dogs. 

Dan is survived by his wife, Brenda Stokes; stepchildren, Chad and Michael Allen; brother, Ron Stokes; sister in-law Lori; nephews, Justin and Tyler; mother, Helen; stepfather, Pete; and three grandchildren. 

A private celebration will be held from noon to 3 p.m. March 12 at the North Santiam Eagles Lodge in Mill City.
