Linn County Sheriff’s Office Log: Feb. 8 – 14

Feb. 8

Suspicious Vehicle, 9:18 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Stolen vehicle recovered. Investigation is ongoing.

Littering Violation, 10:24 a.m., Goar Road, Scio. Loose cargo being removed from the side of the road.

Suspicious Circumstance, 11:51 a.m., NW First Avenue, Scio. School reported prescription drug bottles found with a younger juvenile. Investigation is ongoing.

Threats, 4:30 p.m., Thomas Drive, Scio. Caller reported threatening messages from a disconnected number.

Animal Complaint, 4:58 p.m., Shilling Drive, Scio. Caller reported a loose cow which was put away before deputies arrived.

Juvenile Complaint, 7:06 p.m., 19th Street, Lyons. Deputy assisted a parent with talking about resources and options for dealing with a defiant 14-year-old. Nothing criminal.

Noise Disturbance, 8:52 p.m., SW Ivy Street, Mill City. Caller reported hearing a buzzing noise but the noise had stopped. Unknown source of the buzzing noise. Deputies were unable to hear the noise during this time.

Welfare check, 9:05 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Caller wanted a non-criminal incident documented.

Suspicious Person, 9:59 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Male, 36, of Albany was arrested for Lebanon Municipal Court and Albany Municipal Court warrants.

Disturbance, 10:35 p.m., W Main Street, Lyons. Deputies learn a male forced his way into a residence and fought with one of the residents before fleeing the area. Investigation is ongoing.

Feb. 9

Forest Timber Patrol, 7:46 a.m., Rock Creek Road, Gates. Deputy patrolled ODF property and checked numerous spur roads from Rock Creek Road to Monument Peak Road. Nothing to report.

Dog Complaint, 9:12 a.m., Gilkey Road, Scio. Dog owner cited for one count of dog trespassing on private property. Owner verbally warned for dog at large on a public roadway.

Forest Timber Patrol, 10:25 a.m., Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Deputy patrolled Weyerhaeuser, BLM and ODF property. Nothing to report.

Forest Timber Patrol, 11:31 a.m., Thomas Creek Drive, Scio. Deputy patrolled Weyerhaeuser, BLM and ODF property. Nothing to report.

Dog Complaint, 12:33 p.m., Gilkey Road, Scio. Dog owner issued verbal warning for failure to license her dogs.

Park Patrol, 4:44 p.m., Fish Hatchery Drive, Scio. Deputy patrolled Roaring River Park. There was one visitor. Nothing to report.

Animal Complaint, 9:07 p.m., SE Fairview Street, Mill City. Lost dog reported.

Feb. 10

Traffic Stop, 9:25 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver cited for 79 MPH in 55 MPH zone.

Suspicious Circumstance, 1:33 p.m., S First Avenue/SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Citizen reported a suspicious homeless person. Deputies were unable to locate.

Trespass, 2:49 p.m., Trask Road/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Weyerhaeuser security called in two trespassing adults and requested they be given a warning. Male then left area.

Shots Heard, 3:07 p.m., SE Second Avenue, Mill City. Dog ran off and shortly after shots were heard. Dogs returned home. Unable to locate shots.

Traffic Complaint, 6:38 p.m., Richardson Gap Road/Larwood Drive, Scio. Deputies received a call about a vehicle swerving all over the road. Deputies were unable to locate.

Feb. 11

Traffic Stop, 1:17 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Driver cited for speed.

Suspicious Circumstance, 2:43 p.m., NE Alder Street, Mill City. Caller reported a suspicious circumstance involving a male driver asking her if she wanted a ride.

Traffic Stop, 9:56 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Driver warned for lighting violation.

Suspicious Circumstance, 10:03 p.m., Camp Morrison Drive, Scio. Report of party on SnowPeak. Deputies found 100-150 people present around a bonfire. No criminal activity detected.

Feb. 12

Extra Patrol, 2:22 a.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Traffic enforcement. No citations issued.

Traffic Stop, 2:48 a.m., NE Wall Street/N First Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for lighting violation.

Extra Patrol, 5:06 a.m., N Main Street, Scio. Extra patrol of Scio High.

Burglary, 5:38 a.m., SW Third Avenue, Mill City. Burglary alarm. Deputy checked the residence and found it to be secure and no signs of a burglar.

Shots Heard, 7:46 a.m., Rio Vista Lane, Mill City. Deputy assisted Oregon State Police with a game violation.

Extra Patrol, 9:56 a.m., Fifth and Elm streets, Lyons. Traffic enforcement.

Traffic Stop, 10:14 a.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Driver warned for speed.

Domestic Disturbance, 10;30 a.m., Trask Road, Lyons. Mental health related domestic disturbance. No crimes reported. Caller advised on restraining order process.

Traffic Stop, 10:33 a.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Driver warned for speed.

Suspicious Circumstance, 12:02 p.m., Trask Road, Lyons. Security check of the old mill site. Deputy contacted owner about an unsecured door.

Suspicious Vehicle, 12:22 p.m., SW Second Avenue, Scio. Neighborhood parking complaint. Homeowner agreed to move the vehicle.

Civil Dispute, 6:08 p.m., Highway 226, Scio. Caller had questions regarding a civil matter. Deputy responded and documented incident.

Suspicious Circumstance, 7:19 p.m., SW Linn Blvd., Mill City. Caller reported a suspicious incident. Deputies documented incident.

Dog Complaint, 8:15 p.m., Miller Cemetery Road, Scio. Juvenile bitten by a family friend’s dog. Child was taken to Albany General Hospital by family where she was treated for minor injuries. Deputies took a report.

Feb. 13

Welfare Check, 7:53 a.m., Trask Road, Lyons. All was well.

Suspicious Circumstance, 10:46 a.m., Fifth Street, Lyons. Suspicious truck in front of a home. Deputy located truck and spoke with driver. Nothing suspicious going on.

Extra Patrol, 1:54 p.m., SE Kingwood Avenue, Mill City. Speed enforcement. No violation observed. Heavy traffic on Superbowl Sunday.

Traffic Stop, 4:09 p.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Driver cited for driving uninsured and warned for no operator privileges and running a stop sign.

Shots Heard, 8:02 p.m., NW Alder Street, Mill City. Possible single firework went off. Deputies did not hear or see any fireworks or suspicious signs in the area.

Motorist Assist, 9:49 p.m., W Central Avenue, Gates. Deputy located subject on the side of the highway who was about to run out of gas. Deputy followed subject to a gas station several miles away.

Feb. 14

Suspicious Circumstance, 12:23 a.m., Hungry Hill Drive, Scio. Deputy did not observe anything suspicious.

Extra Patrol, 12:57 a.m., SW Broadway Street, Mill City. Traffic enforcement. Very light traffic. No citation issued.

Traffic Stop, 2:30 a.m., NW Alder Street/NW Second Avenue, Mill City. Driver warned for moving violation.

Suspicious Vehicle, 8:34 a.m., Gilkey Road, Scio. Deputy located owner of vehicle and was advised they ran out of gas.

Accident, 9:29 a.m., Highway 226, Scio. Report of a non-injury accident from the previous day.

Extra Patrol, 10:23 a.m., S First Avenue, Mill City. Traffic enforcement.

Extra Patrol, 12:23 p.m., Main Street, Lyons. Traffic enforcement.

Traffic Hazard, 12:49 p.m., NW Cherry Street/NW Fourth Avenue, Scio. Vehicle stalled in roadway. Operator was pushed home by a friend.

Possible DUI, 2:37 p.m., Cedar Mill Road/Lyons-Mill City Drive, Lyons. Attempt to locate a possible DUII.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle, 3:27 p.m., NW Eighth Place, Mill City. Deputy was disregarded after original agency sent someone to recover stolen vehicle.

Suspicious Person, 4:34 p.m., Fisher Street, Scio. Report of a disgruntled looking person walking across the caller’s neighbor’s yard. Male was not located. No additional reports of suspicious person.

Traffic Stop, 5:45 p.m., NE First Avenue, Scio. Driver warned for moving violation.
